I've been holding off buying this because it was expensive, but this was a Christmas present to myself. Where I live, the Boston Radio stations don't carry CBS AND ABC RADIO NEWS ON THE HOUR. So being able to pull in WBBM NEWSRADIO CHICAGO AND KOMO NEWSRADIO IN SEATTLE gave me those NEWS STATIONS. Also a local power grid absolutely kills my AM RADIO reception. Now I can pretty much program EVERY Radio station in the Boston and Worcester markets. Overall it's easy to set up. They give you 5 Presets on the physical buttons for your 5 absolute favorites, but you literally have 100 Favorite Stations for Internal Presets. Just be patient on finding your stations. For example, I wanted to make 98.5 The Sports Hub a Preset and it didn't work. But I did find it listed another way and it DID work. If you use radiolocator.com to see every station in your market, you can find every station you want. However, there are 1000s, of radio stations you can connect to for free. You use the radio knob just like a regular radio and find stations. You can search by genre, name, location and it's well worth it even if you don't subscribe to any music subscriptions. I use mine just about everyday and I'm very satisfied. **Q: Does it it connect through wifi of all carriers ?** A: It connects to your home's WiFi like any other wireless networking device. Your internet provider is not relevant. It does not connect to your mobile carrier. **Q: presets remain empty even as message says that station was saved. Software up to date. Did I receive a radio that was returned for that reason?** A: It’s not connected to the internet **Q: How far away can I place this radio from my router? I was told no more than 10 feet from router.** A: Our router is probably 15 to 20 feet from the radio. Router is on back porch, so blocked by wall/door. We have moved the radio into the living area, which must be over 30 feet away and no problems. It allows you access to a whole range of satellite radio stations of different musical, and news genres. I’m using it in a slightly more remote area where other more conventional radios were a complete failure.
