I am a powerlifter. I bought it based on reviews and use by leading strongmen. I do think it helps when I am under load. I don't think I molded it correctly. It is pretty thick and a little funky for the fit. But it does force me to relax my mouth and face which helps for sure. It is hard to take in a large breath when setting up for a lift b/c I feel it is going to slide back which is yielding a gag reflex. Mine did come with a case. The item is nice but I think it is going to take more getting used to.
