Minn Kota Kayak Terrova Bow-Mount Electric Trolling Motor with GPS – 55 Lb. Thrust, 36 in. Shaft, Freshwater

This Minn Kota trolling motor is incredible on my Pelican Kayak. Autopilot is great. Spot Lock works great, and My 100 Mh Lithium battery powers it all day.

So far so good with this. Setup was simple enough onto my motor guide quick disconnect plate. Spot lock held me in place well. I've only used this once, on my Nucanoe Unlimited Max, but working well. Adds a lot of weight.

I was bummed when the other company decided to discontinue the iX3, but then Minn Kota stepped up and launched an even better motor. The composite shaft is killer, and I like the incorporation of the safety switch, as I have seen guys fall out of their kayaks with the motor engaged; not pretty. The Kayak Terrova works great on the bow of my Shearwater 125. I plan to add a new boat next year, and I can easily go back and forth between kayaks with the quick-release mounting plate. The remote is small and easy to tether to your PFD, so it's always nearby. The only negative is that I have to crawl up to the motor to turn on the power. I accidentally pulled the safety switch on my last outing and had to work my way up to the bow to turn the power back on. That was not fun, as the shearwater is pretty narrow and unstable at the bow. It would be nice if the remote could turn on the power. This may be a safety feature, but I am more likely to fall out of the kayak while turning on the power at the unit than at any other time.

Mounted on my 14 foot fishing kayak. Easy on and off with th minn Koda base plate. Allows me to use my 12volt lithium battery. A couple of my friends bought a competitor’s rear mount motor and had to get 24 volt batteries which makes their set up almost twice the cost. It’s remote controlled which makes it great. The spot lock feature keeps me locked in while my buddies have to drift or throw an anchor. Set a slow speed and fish hands free. It’s fantastic. I’m 68 and fish Lake Cumberland, big lake. I can stay out all day and not have to paddle, which I’m getting to old to do.

F**** me.... this is hands down the best money I've ever spent! My PDL 120 pro is a bass assainator now! The spot lock holds me right in place with river current and wind at the same time.

Absolutely phenomenal gps trolling motor. Love the fact that I can control it with the remote or my iPhone. It is quiet and responds well. I am well pleased with the quality of the motor.

I can't say enough good things about this motor so far. Find out what you need for a mounting plate for your kayak, put the QD plate on, get a decent battery, wire it up, and you're off! There's some rigging to do depending on kayak manufacturer, but for my first trolling motor of any sort, I absolutely love it so far!
