Runs & sounds good throughout the 5 hour break in period. But the fuel pump O ring broke & started leaking gas. Undoubtedly a defective part. I just happened to get one with defective fuel pump O ring. Amazon was very helpful to me. Westinghouse reached out concerning issue. All is good now & I appreciate both companies for assistance. Im very happy shopping with Amazon & would recommend Westinghouse for a genterator.

GENERATOR IS QUIET. looks nice, starts easy.

Amazing generator! Ran it just a bit for an AC in my converted enclosed trailer and it ran it like a champ. It’s not near as heavy as a lot of generators I have found. Great value for the cost!

We purchased the Westinghouse 5000 Peak Watt Super Quiet Dual Fuel Portable Inverter EFI Generator in March, and it has been nothing but a series of disappointments. One of the main reasons we bought this generator was its dual-fuel capability. Unfortunately, it has never worked properly with propane. It will not run on a single propane tank as advertised, and even when connected to two tanks, it repeatedly shuts off after a short time. This makes it completely unreliable when you actually need it. To make matters worse, the build quality is surprisingly poor. The manual recoil starter handle broke without ever being pulled. It snapped simply while opening the side panel to add oil before the first proper use. That raises serious concerns about the quality of the materials used throughout the generator. For a product at this price point and from a well-known brand, I expected much better engineering and quality control. Instead, I received a generator that is unreliable and appears to be made with cheap components. I cannot recommend this generator to anyone who plans to rely on propane or expects a durable product. I hope this review helps other buyers avoid the same frustration and disappointment we experienced.

I have had a iGen 4500DF for several years. It has over 2000 hours on it and still works great. I purchased this iGen 5000DFc EFI model for better starts in the winter. Lot's of nice modifications on this new generator, specifically it will be much easier to change the oil as they addressed the cumbersome way it was set up on older models. It seems to be a bit quieter too. One can toggle through the different meters manually where the older unit just mover from one display to the next. Quick disconnect hose LP hose is a nice addition as well. Hopefully cold weather starts will work better. Unfortunately the remote start does not work as well in terms of both in range and intermittently doesn't work at all. Hoping it's a simple fix.

This is my second purchased of the Westinghouse iGen5000DFc EFI Dual Fuel. I bought the carburetor model first, which is the same without the EFI ( electrical fuel injection). I like how the panel for the battery is easily located to the side to access the battery connection. This EFI model was 248$ more compared to the carburetor model of 999$. I will compare which is more efficient regarding fuel consumption. Of course the EFI model is expected to come out on top. I will give a follow up review after the hurricane season later this year. That’s when I expect to use both to their full potential. As I live in the tropics, Jahmekya, which experiences a category 5 hurricane last year October 28,2025. Which totally devastated four of our Western parishes. One in particularly, St. Elizabeth, which is ground zero.
