How tall is this unit?

Fully assembled it is exactly 28 3/4" wide. 56 1/2' long. 34" high (tall). The width measurements are from the outside edges of the frame - not the rods. So, if you do not have the rods installed, you can fit it through a doorway that is at least 28.75" wide.

The field looks to have a rly glossy finish, and would seem distracting with glares and reflections, is that the case? Is it as glossy as pics look?

It's a little glossy but it hasn't been a distraction at all. It's in a well lit room we are using it in our office No one using it has had any complaints
