I am now loyal to Blackstar Amplifications.
When I first heard about Bruce Keir, Technical Director at Marshall Amplification, founded a new start-up, I was instantly intrigued by Blackstar's products. I have always been a Marshall fanboy and have respected the quality and heritage of the company. However, when it came time to purchasing my first bass, I only had this company in mind. Bruce Keir, a Bassist, would surely know how to lead the development of a great bass amp.The Unity Amp line is built with the highest quality materials (inside and out) in comparison to other amps I have used. The Unity 30-Watt can be loud without losing its refined sound. It is a perfect beginner/first/practice amp which can be expanded on with the line's 250-Watt ACTIVE cabinet extensions. I can definitely see myself owning this amp for the rest of my life. The features are rather simple, and some feel more like a gimmick, but that does not take away from crisp tones the amp makes. However, I can see the appeal in playing around with sounds to find whichever your looking for. In my opinion, I would rather get pedals to get the sounds I am looking for.Features:Knobs: Gain, Tone, Low, Mid, Frequency, High, MasterSwitches: 0/-10 db, Classic/Modern/Override, Chorus On/Off, Compressor On/Off.The largest flaw in the U30 is the location of the knobs and switches. I leave the amp below my work desk so I can play whenever I take breaks or feel inspired to practice. If they were in the front of the amp, it would make practicing more ergonomic. However, keep in mind that is a petty flaw. To me, that's a sign that this amp deserves such a high rating. I am now loyal to Blackstar Amplifications.P.S. If this is your first amp, make sure you purchase a 1/4" Guitar Cable. It is not included in the package.

Terrible experience
The media could not be loaded. I bought the amp brand new according to the Amazon page from a seller in Miami, it arrived used, covered in pet hair and scratches. The amp never turned on, a terrible experience. In the end I had to take it in for repairs because it was imported from outside the USA, the equipment sounds great, the effects are very good and it is very versatile, do not hesitate to buy it, but find a trustworthy place where you can buy without fear that no one will want to help you, as happened to me, neither Amazon nor the seller helped me.

Didn’t work
Didn’t work, straight out of the box. No lights, no sound, nothing. Even tried different power cords from other amps. I got a refund but had to pay over $130 for shipping. I feel like I got ripped off. I contacted the manufacturer but they just directed me to the place where I bought it. It might be a good amp but who knows?? It was a Christmas present for my son on top of it all. Had to ship it back and pay for it, even though there was a “label.” Turned out to be just an address label and not prepaid. Total rip off.
