Gives an immaculate groomed look. Has a strong hold although can re-groom throughout the day. Over night can reset in the morning by adding more to damp hair. Washes out properly when showering. Scent is pleasant and fades so doesn’t interfere with your day. Would recommend.

I found this styling clay a few years back and have been a big fan ever since. The hold is good, it isn’t sticky or gloopy, doesn’t have any strong fragrance (although it does smell good!), it lasts forever and stays on my hair rather than ending up inside my motorbike lid - there is literally nothing that isn’t great about it! That said, I did have a tiny issue with the last time I bought. I contacted the company and they haven’t just gone the extra mile to sort it out, they have gone ahead, strewn the road with rose petals, lined the streets and carried me in a gilt covered sedan chair - well, figuratively speaking! They pulled out all the stops and more than fixed the problem. They seem like a brilliant U.K. based company and based on my experience of them, I would wholeheartedly recommend them and their products to you, go on, treat yourself, you deserve it!

This is a great product, it washes out easily, has great pliable hold all day and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling on your hands after touching… but it smells like your nan’s favourite perfume. Personally hate the smell it’s really putting me off the product

High quality, tin lasts many months, good value for money product.

This is the second time I’ve bought this product first time around I was impressed. They seem to have watered down the formula a lot, which I’m not a fan of. Used to be quite a firm consistency and now is very watery.

The styling clay is stored in a nicely branded screw top tin, the clay is easy to apply and I only require about a thumbnail amount, the clay holds my hair well in all dry weather conditions, because I spike my hair and fringe up a little it does flop straight away if it rains a little, but I can put up with that. Overall, all natural ingredients and water based, start by using a small amount and work from there, has a natural textured look with a medium hold, this is the only thing I now use, love it! Yes it is expensive but you pay for quality ingredients without all the chemicals and crap in other products, Thank you.

I have been using Nicky Clarke's runway clay for years - nothing else I have tried has ever comes close! I have fairly short hair and that was the only clay (previously) that didn't feel greasy or too heavy and offered just the right matte hold for me! But recently they have discontinued the product, so I have been researching trying numerous clay! Now… I don't mind spending that bit more of a decent product - the old adage 'can' be true you get one you pay for! Although, as we all know that is not always the case, and, especially when you can’t touch, feel, or try before buying! When you are spending on average £15 a go to find a replacement ‘premium’ product, it can be a real pain (in the wallet)... it’s a lot to pay to have one scoop… try.... and then decide - nope not for me! Luckily, I have little nephews that will benefit. Anyway, finally onto Seven Potions Clay – FINALLY I have a new favorite! It doesn’t feel quite the same as Nicky Clarke’s clay ( little lighter) when touching or rubbing in your hands… BUT it does a fantastic job! You get that perfect gentle resistance when applying to the hair making it feel like you can mould your style! It smells decent in an understated clean and gently sweet way. The main thing is that it provides a strong yet not concrete hold - allowing you to gently restyle during the day. It has as much of a matte a finish as you can get without making your hair look dry wispy or even grey like some cheaper clay.... and it does not feel greasy. Love it! My new regular hair product.

Great overall product, no overwhelming smell and good hold

I've tried several pomades and have found myself wanting something that was both free of animal products and harsh chemicals. In the past I shyed away from clay due to just being unsuree of how it would hold, and while the hold by this product is great (for me) don't expect it to be locked down like a stronger, harsher pomade. I can go all day without needing to feel like I need to fix my hair, but I have restyled it once home to find that it's pretty flexible in its readjustment. Some have commented the smell is bad or too strong, personally I find neither to be the case as it's quite mild and well, musk smells like musk so that's for you to decide if it's enjoyable or not. Should you expect a rock solid hold like layrite style pomades? No. Will it hold it well? In my opinion absolutely! Size is fine enough and the cost is okay considering this is catering to more of a niche set of expectations. All in all I will be buying again!

Ich ernähre mich vegan und wollte mir nun auch eine vegane Alternative zum gewohnten Haarwachs besorgen. Vorher benutzte ich American Crew, war auch immer sehr zufrieden, wollte nun aber etwas Vergleichbares. Das Wachs ist cremig, leicht in der Hand verteilbar und wird dann wie gewohnt im Haar einmassiert. Für mich riecht es sehr angenehm, ohne extremen Parfümduft, aber mit leicht erdiger, toniger Note - was ich persönlich sehr passend und angenehm finde, es könnte aber auch nicht für jeden etwas sein... Die Frisur hält mit dem Wachs wunderbar und sieht für mehrere Stunden bzw. den Berufstag sehr gut aus: matt und definiert. Sie hält dabei bestimmt keinem Schauer oder extremen Wind stand, für den Alltag ist das aber für mich mittlerweile die erste Wahl, insbesondere vor dem Hintergrund der tierleidfreien Herstellung!

I have terribly sensitive skin including my scalp. This includes ezcema. I often get compliments on my thick wavy/curly hair. Some days however, my hair is less flattering. Adding product makes it consistently look great. I'm not a fan of gel so I've opted to try hair clay (as the slick, glossy look of pomade does not appeal to me) I've tried nearly a dozen brands by now... One particular brand had the worst and strongest scent that I actually received multiple complaints in a single day (never experienced that before about anything). But most irritated my scalp; one even flared up my eczema on my face (yes, my face broke out, it was REALLY bad). After awhile, I gave up. But after I healed up and some time had passed, I began looking again for a quality product that was gentle on skin. Seven Potions IS that product! NO irritation on my scalp AT ALL. It is definitely a clay and will not have that slick, glossy pomade look (which some "clays" that I've tried had which is misleadingly and not my preference). It is indeed matte but without being super matte like other brands which made my hair look dry & lifeless. Fortunately, it is just the right amount of matte; a natural look. Seven Potions applies moderately easy for a hair clay. Not too sticky like some other brands. It is unscented or at least a very light generic scent which I greatly prefer. It doesn't fight against my cologne when I do decide to wear any. Having too many scents mixing around is not good. (I just checked the product page to see if it was advertised as Unscent or not, but then noticed that other reviews mentioned a terrible scent. This is not my experience. Perhaps Seven Potions took note of these negative reviews and remedied the scent problem. I bought 2 of their hair clays so I can have 1 at my girlfriend's. I bought them a few weeks apart. Neither had a poor scent. It is pleasant and extremely light. I only smell it from the can and never on myself which is a selling point to me). I would not consider this a "high hold" though. Perhaps medium at best. Then again, I do not put more than a nickel size amount since I do not want to add too much weight to my hair or start looking greasy. The hold is natural as a hair clay should be. It won't fight up against wind (this isn't hair gel). And at the end of the day, the product seems to disintegrate while leaving the volume & curls in my hair, and smooth & soft too. Due to this, it is extremely easy to wash out considering most of the time, I don't feel its presence. I don't see myself using anything else moving forward.
