The BEST straighteners. I’ve had GHD chronos and GHD originals, and I still went back to these 😂 the small plate ones just as good, but I prefer the wide plate as less passes through my hair. They are insanely cheap and incredible value for money. They’re not heavy or bulky, easy to hold, the chord swivels so it doesn’t get all twisted up. They leave my hair shiny and smooth, they heat up quick, easy to work around, safety thermal it out, straightening made easy, genuinely the best straighteners I’ve ver owned. I had the small plate ones for about 2 years and someone managed to influence me into buying the GHD chronos so I spent £200+ on them and I kid you not they work NO better than these Remington ones. I sold them after about 6 months as I just couldn’t justify having them sat there while I use these £23 pair of straighteners instead 😂 credit where credit’s due, these are phenomenal and the price point just tops it all. Can curl with them with ease too, makes a nice natural wave/curl. If you’re on the fence about trying them take this as your sign!

Amazing value ! GHD’s broke. Couldn’t afford to replace. Saw 35,000 4.5⭐️ reviews on here and thought I’d take a chance. Paid £28 for the wide plate, which are currently £79.99 in Argos. Well I am delighted, they work just as well as the GHD. And infact I’m pleased I managed to straighten my think frizzy curly hair then create a slight beach wave which i have never managed to do before with my GHD’s. Also registered a 3 yr warranty with Remington online. Happy!

I decided to give these straighteners a try after my old ones gave up on me (cost 150!!) I was a bit apprehensive but seen the reviews were so good and I’m delighted to say they live up to the hype! I can’t believe how good they are for the price. They are a lovely neat size and they heat up in no time and it is easy to control the heat. I have very thick hair and it straightens them perfectly. Really happy with my purchase

Happy with it, I’ve used GHD’s since 2008 when I went in to secondary school, but my last pair broke and only lasted 2 years, for the price these are incredible, and my hair feels nice and soft, my only criticism is that the feel very cheap and if you have your hand too high you feel the heat on one side coming through. Other than the quality aspect, I’m very happy and for the price, I won’t go back to GHD’s. Also they came in the product box which I wasn’t happy about at all as the box came damaged.

Excellent straighteners for the price – smooth results I bought the Remington Shine Therapy Straightener (S8500) after using higher-end brands in the past, and I was curious to see how they would compare. Overall, I’ve been really impressed, especially considering the price point. They heat up quickly and the digital display makes it easy to choose the right temperature. I like having the range of heat settings, as it means I can adjust depending on my hair type or whether I want a quick straighten or a more polished finish. The plates glide through the hair smoothly without snagging, and I’ve noticed they leave my hair looking sleek and shiny. The argan oil-infused ceramic coating does seem to make a difference in reducing that dry, static feel you sometimes get with cheaper straighteners. They’re also lightweight and comfortable to hold, which makes styling quicker and less tiring. The floating plates help them adapt well to sections of hair, giving an even result without needing to go over the same section repeatedly. Bit weary as they were only £30, actually really good for soft waves, doesn't pull my hair either. You can control the heat settings, easy to use, colour is nice, noce and light weight. Would recommend.

I got this Remington Shine Therapy Straightener / Styler on offer, so it was a bargain. I’ve used GHDs since 2002, having tried pretty much every model since it started. My current GHD is the platinum + model, and I have also tried their newest model, the Chronos, but I can honestly say that this Remington Shine Therapy straightener works better on my hair, straightening and curling it more quickly. I have naturally wavy/ fluffy hair, which is quite fine but there’s a lot of it. It goes very frizzy as soon as there’s a bit of drizzle/humidity and I can never blow dry it anywhere near straight. When it fluffs up, it looks like a lion’s mane. I’ve only been using these for a few days, but am blown away by how great they are. The plates are also longer than ghds, which I find makes them easier to curl/wave with, and quicker to straighten with. When switched on, they heat up quickly, though the temperature display seems to flash for a couple of minutes (I haven’t timed it), which I believe indicates they are still heating up. However, I feel they work great even when the display is still flashing. When they switch on, they default to 190 degrees, so if you want them cooler or hotter, you just need to adjust with the buttons. I find 190 to be perfect for my hair, though I haven’t tried it cooler. It glides through my hair so easily. I can’t believe how quickly and effectively it straightens my hair; it has never felt softer or looked healthier. It’s great at curling/waving too, producing long lasting waves for a natural beachy look. There’s a button to lock the plates closed when not in use. This is a great idea but I do sometimes find it a little stiff so I tend not to use it. It’s not something that’s featured on any of my ghds before, so I will probably just continue to use the silicone sleeve I have from my ghd platinums, which holds the styler closed. If I straighten my hair with this, it remains pretty straight until I wash it again (sometimes just needing a straightening top up if it’s been tied in a ponytail. I needed to straighten my hair daily with my GHDs regardless of whether it was a hair wash day or not. The results are so much better with this than my ghds. I should also state that I have used cloud 9s too, which I didn’t think were that great. I can honestly say that this is the best straightener/styler I have ever used. I think I’d just assumed that no one would ever make anything anywhere near as good as ghds but I suppose 20+ years have passed since GHD infiltrated the market. Before spending loads of money on a top of the range one, give this a try, especially if it’s on offer. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Edit: I’m now nearly 8 weeks in, and my hair still loves this straightener. I wondered if the honeymoon period would wear off, but it hasn’t! And the best of it is, I haven’t had to do anything to my hair (other than brush it) since I washed it (and blow dried and straightened it) two days ago. That was unheard of before I owned this :) Edit: May 2025. It’s almost 11 months since I purchased this and I still stand by how amazing it is. The condition of my hair is the best it’s ever been. I don’t need to re straighten or wave my hair every day like I did with my GHDs; it stays straight or wavy (however I have styled it) until it’s washed again. And the condition of my hair after washing and drying is much better than it’s ever been. My hairdresser has noticed a huge improvement in my hair too.

Certainly glides through your hair and great plates length. The shine works too. Very good heat control and speedy heats up in seconds. Didn't realise it has an extra long connection cable which is great. 5 year guarantee 6 if you register online which is always good. Only 2 niggles: 2 glides through hair doesn't straighen enough and I have really thin hair and the hinge lock doesn't work well in keeping them locked - but for the price, still 5stars.

Excellent. Bought this to replace my GHD, which gave up after 15yrs of hard labour (RIP). Superb value for money. Adjustable temperature is an improvement on the GHD.

Love love love this. So quick and easy to use and effective. Highly recommend. My hair is poker straight in no time, no tugging or breaking and it stays straight and glossy all day even in hot humid tropical weather. Remington really knows what they're about

J'avais dû mal à croire aux 2 passages uniques pour lisser. Et bien c'est véridique. Tout ça à 190º. Sans brushing, au sèche-cheveux, c'est Jackson 5 direct donc il me fallait un lisseur qui fasse le taff surtout sur cheveux frisés et sans les rendre encore plus secs. Et bien il lisse au point d'avoir des baguettes si je fais 2 passages ou si j'augmente la température. Souhaitant avoir une belle longueur mais ne les voyant pas pousser, boucles oblige, je voulais les lisser pour ne pas perdre espoir et recouper pour un carré mais surtout ne pas y passer 1h à chaque lissage. C'est chose faite avec ce lisseur. Gain de temps incroyable. D'autre part, j'ai les cheveux blancs naturels qui jaunissent à cause de la chaleur. Mon ancien lisseur du moyen-âge ne chauffait plus assez donc je devais faire 1000 passages sans effet lissé souhaité et le cheveu redevenait jaune clair alors qu'il venait d'être soigné justement pour enlever ces vilains reflets. Ce que j'ai toujours trouvé moche avec le lisseur, ce sont les pointes ultra raides et sèches qui trahissaient un cheveu bouclé. Et bien ce n'est pas le cas avec ce lisseur et surtouuuut, il vient à bout des bouclettes de baby cheveux autour du visage, impossibles à lisser car courts et rebelles. Pas besoin de claquer 3 smics pour un lisseur. Des soins, c'est la base!
