I have never slipped in anything wearing them, and have had transmission fluid spilled on them. They did get slightly stained, but a little suede cleaner an a brush made them look good again. Through all the rigors I put them through, they lasted 6 months, as one of the boots began to tear right above the heel. **Q: Do these have a space on the side for a boot knife?** A: I dont wear a boot knife, but you might be able to wear one. the boots are to thin for everyday wear. so if your looking for everyday wear try another brand. **Q: Do these boots have a safety toe in them?** A: Sorry, this kind of boots haven't safety toe. **Q: If I’m reading this correctly, the tan boots are leather but the black ones are not.
