Protects the most injury prone portion of the shin, about a 9" area in the most common bar/shin vertical lift impact zone, while cutting out the extra bulk. Helps protect from bar skin tears while dead-lifting or box jumping, but still allows you to run and do double-unders. Less material, cooler body temperature and less weight than conventional sleeves. Shinnovate Shin Guards can also be worn or removed easily without removing your shoes. Review: It works great for deadlifts - I purchased this solely for deadlifts and it works great. I'm able to workout my legs and wrap up my leg workouts with deadlifts. I purchased this mainly due to the easy straps so you can put on and remove easily after your deadlifts without having to take off your shoes. This thing will provide minimal protection for box jumps. I use soccer shin protectors for box jumps. Review: A LIFE SAVER FOR ME ! - These are awesome, light weight, doesn't feel like you are actually wearing them. with circulation issues and thinner shin skin, they protector take the bumps and mis-steps in stride and i have yet to have gotten any abrasions wearing them. a big plus for me. should have gotten them years ago!

Protection from bruises good; bottom straps too short
I use these Shinnovate shin guards whenever I'm deadlifting, and they work great! I used to get bruises all the time, and with the Sinnovates that does not happen any more. When I forget to put them on, I notice it on the first warmup lift, and go get them! A good thing about these is that you can remove the plastic "guard" piece from the pocket, when you want to throw the fabric into the laundry, and put the plastic piece back in after they dry. (I air-dry them, and do not try to put them in a dryer.) I prefer using these, FAR more than wearing special deadlifting socks, because I can just strap these on when I'm about to deadlift, but keep my shins cool the rest of the time I'm working out. I took off a star, because the lower straps are too short - they barely overlap by a quarter inch on me, and my calves aren't all that big. (I'm female.) The product comes with a note saying that they've made the TOP straps extra long, so you can cut them to the right size for your legs -- which is nice, but then why didn't they do the same for the bottom straps? They could have made the top straps shorter by an inch or so, and used that material for longer bottom straps -- I don't think anyone's legs are shaped the way these straps are made (giant below the knees, and extra-small lower down). I'll probably end up cutting some off the top straps, and then sewing the pieces onto the bottom ones, to have enough, but it's annoying to have to modify the product after you've bought it.

Work well for deadlifts
I use these shin guards for deadlifts. They work really well. I guess the alternative is deadlifting socks, which I haven't tried. I feel slightly self conscious wearing the shin guards, but that's my issue. They do make my lifts easier because I don't have to worry about scraping up my shins. I think it's not nice to bleed on the bar, and also I'm paranoid about the possibility of picking up an infection from the bar, so I'm pretty happy with these shin guards.

AWFUL. Not worth the money
DO NOT BUY THESE. The fabric was worn down to the plastic after 4 sessions of deadlifts and on my 6th session using these, one of the plastic sleeves straight up broke in half. Now i'm not ramming the heck out of my shins when I deadlift, but I promise you can buy something way better (Mcdavid calf sleeves) for the same price if not a little more. I guess you get what you pay for.

Excellent Shin Protection
I do a H.I.I.T. workout which often includes doing box jumps. A few days ago, while doing box jumps, I lost my focus for just a second, missed the jump and severely scraped my shin. I went home that night and immediately ordered the Shinnovate Shin Guards. Now I wear them every time we do box jumps and they're exactly what I need. They're machine washable, they're very comfortable and very easy to put on and take off.

Iโm so glad I did
Saved my shins on those boxes. My shins were scrapped, bruised and bloody the last time I jumped the boxes, I was afraid to jump them again, but I didnโt want to give up, I saw these shin guards and bought them, Iโm so glad I did. I am confident to jump those monsters again, as long as I am wearing the guards, though.
