I have two other hydrants by another brand that are very hard to lift and the top bolt on both of them broke—my husband and our handyman fixed them so they are functional but still not very easy to use. I definitely did not want another of the same brand. I researched the various options available on desertcart and elsewhere. After reviewing the Merrill website and information about the quality of their products, I decided to spend the extra money. I’m very glad that I did. I can’t speak to longevity since we just installed it this week, but it certainly seems like it will hold up very well. I also like the fact it is made in the USA. My husband had no issues from an installation perspective. I’m ordering another one today. Review: Solid hydrant - Easily installed by my inexperienced self. Still working well over a year later. ## Features - CALIFORNIA PROP 65 WARNING: Product may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm.
