It was the highlight of our family Christmas gathering and makes the cheese better by slicing it so thin.

Saw this on Escape to The Chateau and impulse ordered. It's fun to use, but you need a large round of cheese to make it work properly (at least 3" high).

Great European oak board with handle, easy screw in post and the rotary plain blade attachment. Great quality material (nice Dutch made product) and the blade can be sharpened to a razor edge if desired. Cheese curls twirl on the top of the appropriate semi-hard cheeses when the proper pressure is applied to the white plastic turning knob. A very short learning curve for most peoples can produce tasty thin curls. Note, this curler can be used for more cheeses than just the original "stinky" Swiss monks-head. P'tit Basque, by iStara, a mild sheep's milk cheese at correct temp curls beautifully when in the round shape and does not scare the heck out of many plain supermarket bag type cheese eating people. Please don't put this quality wooden board in a harsh dishwasher. Wood is just not meant to be treated that way.If you feel the need to use a dishwasher buy a stone type base. Occasionally treat the wood with an appropriate cutting board oil and you will have many happy parties together. The board and knife should last a lifetime. Good cheese eating to all!

I bought this for my husband's birthday as a remembrance of a trip to Switzerland. It looks very well made. I actually havent used it yet as I was waiting to order the tete de moine cheese. PLEASE NOTE: unless you check a box, it will be delivered with the shipping label on the actual box!!!! I didnt read that, so my birthday surprise was ruined. My husband accepted the package from our UPS driver. I cant believe it is shipped this way! No outer shipping box! I did not see the statement saying it would be visible what it is unless you check a box. Oops.

love how it makes those delicate cheese ruffles that the cheese carts in the best restaurants have. It's solidly built and isn't "cheesey" plastic like some of the other ones on the market. It's a piece that is perfect for entertaining.
