Best Monitor of the Year
This monitor is freaking awesome! If you’ve seen the first Incredibles where Mr. Incredible sneaks into Syndrome’s Computer? This monitor feels like that. A Goliath monitor. It’s insanely spacious. The 5K2K resolution is beautiful. Colors are beautiful, bright, and accurate on that OLED display. It’s expensive, but worth it. I use the USB-C cable for my Mac, and the DisplayPort for my PC. All working seamlessly. This is definitely the monitor to get. Insanely smooth too with the high refresh rate.

Absolutely phenomenal!
First off, the curve is VERY aggressive! However, once you sit in front of it, it's nowhere near as bad as you may think. I have yet to try this on PC; it works mostly great on console. You do have to tweak some annoying settings to get it to register HDR and may have to manually adjust the picture quality but it is very worth it! You can either have the image stretched or cut it down to 16:9. I personally recommened the stretched ratio since it doesn't look as terrible as one might think. In some game, however, it is very noticable and should be switched to 16:9 instead of 21:9. The colors and brightness are beautiful, especially in dark rooms. The high refresh rate makes gameplay look simply stunning and easily worth the discounted price. While the original price is crazy, the cut down price makes this monitor a MUST if you want to get into wide screen monitors! The response time feels practically instant compared to other monitors I've used. The height can also be adjusted to very high or average, which helps a lot. Overall, I give this monitor a 9/10; one point is taken off due to the original full price. But if that doesn't bother you, go for it! 2026 Update: Still an amazing monitor! Again, the price is pretty difficult but it is most definitely worth it!

Best monitor available.
This is the best OLED monitor available right now. The width, resolution, and curve combine to make it incredibly immersive. I'm a sysadmin and network engineer and this monitor can have so many SSH sessions open at once. Refresh rate at full resolution is 165 with G-sync which is pretty good as it is hard to run most modern games faster at 5k2k. The integrated speakers are very good and become my primary ones. They get incredibly loud and I have them set to 50% max in the monitor config.

Blows me Away But Has Problems
First let me start off by saying congratulations if you are reading this review. You are looking at a product that is truly something special. A 1700$ monitor is pretty wild when you think about it. Personally, I can't afford it but I bought it anyway. Why you might ask? Because I only buy the best for myself despite being low income. I felt this monitor would be keystone to the PC I built in November where again, I spared no expense. My initial reaction to this monitor was dear God please don't let me break it taking it out of the box. The screen bezel is very small and you dont want to be wrapping your fingers around this monitor. Bad things will happen. Once I read the extremely vague and poorly translated instructions(More on this topic later) I had the monitor on the desk without having anything bad happen. I felt lucky this was the case. The way this thing was packaged felt like an accident waiting to happen. But I digress. On to the good stuff. The monitor is absolutely stunning and beautiful and almost every imaginable way. Visually it has me looking up from my pillow at night thinking "Damn Daniel." Once properly set up I soon realized I was dealing with a huge leap forward in picture quality and color representation from my nearly 13 year old 1080p BEN Q monitor. I mean...Que Owen Wilson Voice here..."WOW" Its gorgeous. Gaming has been super fun on this bad boy (Or girl) not sure what the monitor identifies as. Personally I believe the finest things in life are female. Like a ferarri. Ya that's right. This thing is a Ferrari of monitors compared to the Lexus I had been using for so long. But I feel there's some things I'm a little worried about. Here are some of my negative things to say and this is why it's not a perfect 5 stars. The documentation with the monitor seems very lacking. I didn't find a real owners manual explaining things in great detail. I even looked online and that also wasn't anything impressive or super helpful. I'm trying to better understand what it means to own an OLED. A type of screen known for it's issues with Burn in. That's right. The documentation is vague and unhelpful when it comes to burn in. They have no problem saying they won't cover burn in with their warranty but it's ok for the consumer to drop nearly 2 grand on something with a user manual translated by God only knows. LG your "Long periods of time" advice for preventing burn in is very vague in my opinion. You should also offer burn in protection. Im not talking about the obvious situations. I dont expect to have a monitor replaced if I freeze frame on Pedro Pascals face for 12 hours and it destroys the screen. But this is a gaming monitor. I dont play a single game that does not have static HUD elements present. These are objects which do not move or go away during play. How long until one of these in game elements damages my gaming monitor? I only have a vague answer for that. Big Problem. Additionally is seems like cleaning this thing is going to be interesting. The monitor has technologies for keeping it healthy, but again; The information on them and how often they should be run is pretty vague in my opinion. In closing, this is a fantastic product that I have my fingers crossed that it works out to my expectations. So far is has only impressed and changed my opinion completely on curved displays and 1440p resolution gaming. I hope if you order one it comes in good condition. My box was a little banged up and that had me worried but alas all is well so far. Only time will tell whether I made a good choice in going with an OLED or if I have doomed myself by spending so much on a monitor that wont make it 13 years like my 600$ LCD. To anyone who braves the water and buys one I wish you all the luck. Fly safe.

LG 45GX950A OLED Monitor – The Ultimate Upgrade After a 5-Year Wait
First Impressions After waiting for the perfect monitor for over 5 years, the LG 45GX950A has exceeded all expectations. It’s not just a monitor—it’s a full-on experience. This 45” OLED monitor is in a class of its own and is a huge upgrade that was well worth the wait. It's large and immersive enough to double as a TV. Performance & Display Quality Playing games on an OLED panel at 165Hz with this resolution is unprecedented. Text is razor-sharp and extremely legible at 125 PPI. The tiny pixels make individual RGB subpixels invisible even under a magnifying glass. The default brightness is set at 100%, which can be harsh on the eyes, but reducing it to 50% creates a comfortable and rich viewing experience. Design & Build The matte finish is an excellent choice, minimizing reflections during daytime use or nighttime movie viewing. Unlike glossy screens with aggressive curves that can reflect the room or even distort the monitor’s own image, the matte surface eliminates internal glare and reflection, which can be problematic on an 800R curve. The monitor also features a stylish, hexagonal customizable LED backlight, and the black rear cover helps minimize ambient light scatter, unlike white back panels. Features & Functionality A key improvement over my old LG monitor is the convenience factor. The 45GX950A auto-switches to the active input source—a welcome change from having to switch manually. Also, DisplayPort now carries audio to the internal speakers, which are surprisingly loud and adequate for everyday use. Gaming Experience The 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio is perfect for cinematic content and immersive gameplay. With a 0.03 ms response time and support for up to 165Hz (330Hz with overclocking), this monitor is lightning-fast. The wider field of view is especially ideal for racing sims, flight sims, and open-world titles. If you've never gamed on an OLED display, the difference in black depth and contrast will feel almost surreal. Power Efficiency Despite its size and capabilities, the monitor uses only 35 watts for non-gaming activity and 40 watts during gaming when HDR brightness is at 50%. That’s incredibly efficient and allows it to run cool even during extended use. Pros: 1. You will feel very giddy at first – in a good way. The curve feels dramatic but quickly becomes natural and immersive. 2. Blazing speed: 165Hz/330Hz refresh and 0.03 ms response time. 3. Convenience: Auto input switching and DisplayPort audio. 4. Cinematic ultrawide 21:9 ratio with a vertical 2160 resolution. 5. Immersive and ideal for games and movies with deeper blacks. 6. Low power usage and high efficiency. 7. Matte finish eliminates distracting reflections. 8. Customizable backlight with functional design choices like the black rear panel. Cons: 1. A faint white vertical bar appeared at first, but OLED Image Cleaning resolved it quickly. 2. On the pricey side, though the feature set justifies the cost. 3. Your GPU or CPU may need upgrading to handle the full 5K2K resolution. 4. For uncompressed DisplayPort 2.0/2.1 support, you’ll need an RTX 5000 or RX 7000 series card. Final Thoughts If you're looking for a monitor that blends stunning visuals, fast refresh rates, immersive curvature, and premium build quality—this is it. I didn’t get to see this in person before buying, but after using it for a day, I can confidently say I will be more than 100% satisfied with it for years to come. Highly recommended.

Excellent OLED gaming monitor with high resolution
Excellent display! Mine arrived with visible lines, however this is an expected possibility so running the image cleaner within the display fixed it on the second pass. LG lots of great resources so you can confidently purchase the OLED. The resolution is 5k2k so keep in mind things like videos on Netflix that are 4k will have black lines on the left and right unless you stretch the image. Games look absolutely amazing! If you have a high end video card and want a display that can produce an image that will astound you, get this. I will say I got it on a great sale so at the regular price it was too much for me, but I am glad I got this.

Stunning 5k2k OLED Quality on the Desktop
This monitor works great. It brings OLED-TV picture quality and vivid color to the desktop. Now I get the same feeling watching movies on my monitor as I do on my TV. Text is very sharp, and the image is clear and colorful. The only drawback I can think of is that they should have used an aluminum stand. For a ~$1500 monitor, it deserves it. Therefore, I give it a rating of 4.9/5. Note: I’ve seen people post photos showing unclear text and incorrect colors. I ran into the same issues when using an older PC that doesn’t support 5K2K, or when using the wrong adapter or cable. It works well with a Mac Mini M2, mac pro M4, 2019 Intel i9 Mac Pro, and ThinkPad X1 Extreme using a direct USB-C connection.

Great monitor, but LG sent me a used monitor when I purchased a new one
The monitor is great. The picture quality is OLED amazing and the features are solid. I appreciate the ability to switch from lower refresh rate to a higher one at the cost of resolution. The size and 800R curve are immersive, although it would be perfect if it was about 3-4" longer. That said, it's a great screen, light weight, and makes game play stellar. Productivity is also great on this monitor. I switched to this monitor from a 49" ultrawide screen, and I was concerned that I would miss the screen space I used for working on multiple documents at once. While is is less wide, the increased height (coming from a 5120x1440 monitor) made up for the difference. So if this monitor is amazing, why the 3-star rating? I had to return the monitor because it had a small, but deep cut on the screen that compromised multiple pixels. It was small, but I knew once I noticed it, it would bug me for the multiple-year-use of the monitor, so I returned it. On hindsight, I should have returned it earlier as the box appeared to be have been already opened (i.e., the original tape was removed and that took off the printing on the box). The box "handles" were also ripped and taped, and the internal components were not wrapped and taped as they should be. Either way, LG quality control is in question (and this isn't the first time I received what looks like an open-box or refurbished item when purchasing something new from Amazon). I will explore other models and either purchase this one or select a different one. Update: I bought another one of these monitors. The box was intact and the internal components were secured, wrapped and taped correctly, and the screen is pristine. Why did LG send me an old monitor when I ordered a new one? Someone needs to fired in the warehouse.
