You need to pull out the defective switch and read what’s on the switch is it rated for 115 VAC 16 amp normally closed.. Most microwave doors have three switches some open, some closed. If you already know which one is defective then the label on it will tell you what you need. My microwave was a GE and this switch worked perfectly.

When my switch broke and while waiting for the replacement switch to arrive, I jumpers the two wires so I could still use the oven. Oven worked but would not shut off when the door was opened, which really surprised me. Once the new switch was installed, oven functioned correctly. Make sure the switch lever is able to fully cycle the switch. It sounds like your switch is acting as if the wires are jumpered.
