Great inverter generator for a small camper
The iGen 2550 DFc is a great value for those who need a quiet, inverter generator for a small camper. The dual fuel option means you don't need to transport gasoline with the accompanying smell, and flammability. Having a 30 amp connection means that you don't have to use any special connectors to your 30 amp power cord. All in all it's a solid choice.

Easy to get going, but be sure to read ALL to documentation first
Bought this for RV boondocking. Unpacked and got it up in running in no time. However, anyone buying should be aware of a few snafus we ran into so they can avoid problems. 1- They provide a small bottle of 4 stroke engine oil, but it's not enough to reach the minimum level. We had to add about a 2 oz more of our own to get a reading on the dip stick. The dip stick reading itself is a little jinky - the fill port is horizontal so you're not really dipping into the depth of the reservoir. A fill neck is provided to assist with filling, but you can't tell when you've overfilled until you unscrew it. You then have oil dripping down the side of the unit. They tell you to not thread the dip stick in to read it, but you can orient the stick and impact the reading. 2- There's a quick start guide, the owners manual AND an addendum, all of which don't say the exact same thing. Be sure to read it all before firing up the first time. They've changed the start up procedures so follow the addendum. Luckily this didn't negatively impact us, but I'd hate for someone to struggle or worse. 3 - the pressure release value for the propane is unguarded. While this didn't cause problems for me, I know I'll be positioning the value and propane tank so this cannot get accidentally bumped or pressed open. Venting propane unknowingly don't sound like a good idea! 4 - the service panel on the side is held on by spring clips, along with a locking knob. I'm mildly concerned about the durability of the spring clips with repeated removal to check oil levels. Seems a more robust attachment strategy should have been used for something they tell you to check before each use. Even with these minor issues, this is still a great unit. It's light enough to be moved around and quiet enough that you can communicate with someone while standing near it. Granted, it's not whisper quiet, but I've heard louder generators before. Looking forward to many adventures off grid with it!
