Once you get your line set up with bait, what you do slide your fingers in the round holes around the perimeter of the inside, then you draw some line out about 3 feet or so, then you can toss it where you want it or swing it around a few times to get some distance and throw the line out where you want it at the same time aim your wheel facing where you want the line to go and it will unspool as needed. Use your fingers to get a good grip on the wheel and wind back up to reel in your catch. Can be used as like a metal yoyo fishing reel where you tie it to a branch spring loaded to set the hook for you, can be a back up if your fishing pole breaks, could be attached to a bow for bow fishing , although you would have to change out the line for something suitable , fashion an emergency reel if you have the know how. Not sure about the line yet though... two things seems to be an issue though, 1 the pouch is so tight, it's hard to push it to the bottom so you can zip it up when the weights are in there. Even if it's in the cone area. 2 the belt straps are 90 degrees out. I would prefer the opening to be on the top, not side!
