Perseus Beheading Medusa Greek Gods Statue, 12 Inch, White,WU72918

I love this sculpture! The online photos by the seller give a clear idea of how beautifully crafted and detailed this reproduction is! I now consider the price to be absolutely inexpensive! I was hoping to find a bronze statuette of Cellini's masterpiece, but this marble resin is in my opinion better than any bronze or bronze toned copy available. To the top of Perseus' left hand, by the way, the statue is 13.25" from the base up, not just 12". The size is perfect. It fills a space magnificently. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Perseus. The poor (yet sexy) Medusa was sexually chosen (raped) by that weasel Poseidon inside Athena's temple, and so Athena (like all the ancient Greek divinities) took her anger out not on her uncle Poseidon, but on the victim Medusa, whom she cursed with snake hair and eyes that turned mortals into stone! So she was technically a monster and did, I suppose, have to be whacked out. Hermes lent Perseus his flyin' shoes and hat (both beautifully depicted here), and Perseus looked at Medusa's mirror image in a shield (ignored by Cellini) to be able to find and behead her. The decapitation is dreadful, and there is all sorts of gore coming from Medusa's beautiful head (its face still distorted with pain) and from the neck of her beautiful body, which lies harshly contorted and sculpted in whole as the base of the sculpture under Perseus' left foot. Perseus himself has a spectacular body and his face is looking down, perhaps in order not to see the deadly head but also, perhaps, in regret. Cellini created a true baroque masterpiece! It's the whole story in one image! And Design Toscano has done true justice to the true sculpture lover on a budget! Five big stars!

I collect Greek and Roman reproductions, and appreciate authentic quality of pieces. This piece is a reproduction of a Renaissance artist's statue, Cellini, but it's Greek mythological theme fits well with my collection. The workmanship and detail of this statue are excellent, almost like actual carved marble. It's gory, but it's Perseus cutting off the head of Medusa, so, what are you gonna do? LOL

When we say details sometimes not so, but this Persius Medusa details are really amazing. The toes of Persius is a perfect work of art. I received the items nicely secured and in perfect condition. It adds a classic atmosphere in my room. Greek mythology fascinates me a lot. I wish Medusa has more snakes on this item.

„Design Toscano Perseus enthauptet Medusa (1554), Marmor-Kunstharz Statue“ Pro: - verhältnismäßig viele Details - Schonpolster am Boden Neutral: - Vorsicht ist geboten: Schwachpunkt der Stabilität an den Beinen /Füßen - kleine qualitative Auffälligkeiten - nicht so detailliert wie das Original: z.B. keine Schrift auf Gürtel über Brust Contra: / Abgesehen von der Amazon Verpackung befindet sich die Statue /Skulptur in Styropor gepolstert in einem Karton. Es ist ein kleines Kärtchen zum Knicken und Aufstellen dabei. Auf dem Styropor findet man einen Hinweis, wie man die Statue entfernen soll. Diese soll von unten, d.h. Vom Boden aus herausgezogen werden. Ich habe sicherheitshalber das Styropor seitlich weg gebrochen und konnte die Statue dann einfach entnehmen. Die Statue wiegt 1.241,2g und war damit deutlich schwerer als ich zunächst gedacht hatte. Ich hatte beim Kauf nicht darauf geachtet. Das Gewicht passt aber mit der Angabe auf Amazon überein. Zur Veranschaulichung der Größe habe ich einen Zollstock, sowie eine 1l Flasche daneben gestellt, siehe Foto. Der Bodenteil mit dem leblosen Körper der Medusa ist recht schwer. Dadurch hat die Statue einen sicheren Stand. Unterhalb vom Boden befindet sich ein Schonpolster, sowie ein Aufkleber vom Produktionszeitraum usw. . (siehe Foto) Ich habe den Eindruck, dass man bei der Handhabung eher vorsichtig sein muss. Es gibt sozusagen einen strukturellen Schwachpunkt und zwar die Beine, bzw. die Füße. Daher fasse ich sie bei Bedarf primär am Boden an, stütze sie mit einer Hand am Rücken von Perseus und hebe sie vorsichtig hoch. Bei meinem Exemplar sind mir ein paar Kleinigkeiten aufgefallen. Mein Perseus hat einen Pickel am Po, am Rücken, eine Stelle an einem Fuß, sowie einige weitere sehr kleine Stellen. Im Vergleich zum Original wurde hier natürlich die Säule weg gelassen. Ferner fehlen einige Details. Z.B. hat der Gürtel über der Brust von Perseus beim Original einen Schriftzug oder das beste Stück vom Perseus ist beim Original etwas anders. Das sind in meinen Augen aber zu vernachlässigende Abweichungen und waren durch die Produktbilder auf Amazon soweit auch ersichtlich. Fazit: Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Für 37,70€ habe ich eine bessere Qualität erhalten, als ich sie erwartet habe. Bei dem Preis kann ich mit den sehr kleinen Mängeln leben. 5 / 5 Sterne!

Sorprendido por los detalles tan delicados de esta esulptura clasica mostrando Perseus y su trofeo; la cabeza de Medusa. Llegó en un embalaje ideal; moldeado de espuma para protejer esta obra de arte de composición polvo de marmol y resina. Fue inmediatamente para la vitrina bajo un foco que le destaca todos los musculos que el escultor Benvenuto Cellini fue capaz de realizar y captivar en marmol. El original permanece en Loggia de Lanzi, Florencia, Italia. Se dice que la familia Medici está encarnada en esta obra magnífica de arte. Más que contento con las compras de la casa Veronese. Firma de Veronese en la base atras con el año en que se fabricó. Imprescindible para amantes de los mitos y leyendas griegas. Me encanta. Me han llegado dos más hoy y ahora tengo cuatro; tres siendo para regalos excéntricos.

Statua perfetta! Il materiale è di buona qualità, al tatto assomiglia molto al marmo, quindi credo che ci sia una bassa percentuale di resina allegare la polvere di marmo. Da notare nelle foto la differenza con le altre statue tra il bianco della porcellana e la statua di Perseo.
