I expected a wall hanger at best, and received, to my astonishment, a fully functional katana, made of good quality steel with a nicely honed edge, Assembled and fitted right and tight. Plus, to my lasting delight, modeled just like Samurai Jack's magic Aku-killing sword from the series, right down to the finer details. The same is wood painted bright yellow, the tsuba is square, and the kissaki has the Samurai-Jack sharp-angle clip-point. The best value and quality for the price I have ever experienced in my many years of collecting.

And almost if you have more concerns dismantle the sword and examine it and its tang if no problem good but if not. Replace or remake something,if you don't have the tools ask for a refund. **Q: are you sure it's a samurai jack sword**
A: I'm 56 years old and have severe nerve damage from 9 back surgeries but own and live alone on my family farm. I also, bass and catfish almost daily, when I'm not in the creeks netting perch and crawdads for cat fish bait and there is two things you can always find by my side. My trusty dog that not only doesn't scare the fish and keeps me safe but he will pick up and hand me anything I tell him to, or go put it in the truck, or take it to another person, if I tell him too,  & this sword. Though no one should, I use it sheathed as my cane and more than once a huge allagotor turtle or pissed of beaver, found it way into my throw net. 
My point it, those that tell you these swords are only good for display must have weak wrist, arms, and shoulders and just not know how to sharpen a hoe or knife. Because of my weakness in my legs I trip more than I should so I'm constantly trimming paths at the ponds & creeks and the nasty Washata River, where I cat fish as well. Get this, I am a former engineer and made a Echo weed eater with a 10 inch metal chopsaw blade and at times, it's my standby or backup, like now. When I've lost or damaged my katana. I rebuilt my last one over and over and kept it for 14 years before a wet hand gripping it, let it fly in the raging river for mother nature to reclaim. February this year was my first purchase of this Samurai Jack series and when an ex called the police, they didn't appreciate me cutting the 6 feet rattlesnake into with the sword, inches from their feet so they took that one.

It will take care of you.

If you're going to use it build your arm and wrist strength up so your cuts are at the right angles and don't turn. Keep it sharp and rust free. I use Winoil on mine. It's for weapons but the mollicules are so small that it weeps into the metal instead of coating it. 

Be very careful and good luck.

Oh, one more thing. 
Try to never cut briars or grapevines,, blackberry bushes or something similar. 
Unless you're a true Samurai your wrist and arm strength isn't enough to keep the sword from turning and cutting something you or a spouse, might want to use in the future.

A: no

**Q: Is the steel blade made from 1045 carbon ? It says so in description, just making sure....**
A: Yea...its a beautiful sword...much more than I expected....I think you will really like it!!!

**Q: Is it really sharp?**
A: No. The sword has an edge but not sharp enough to actually cut. The tip however is very pointed and can penetrate easily. Because they are not hardened the edge will dull easily.
