Sports Research® Collagen Peptides Protein Powder, Vanilla (16.93oz)

I’ve been using this collagen for a few weeks now and I really like it. It mixes very easily in coffee and smoothies without any weird taste or smell. I’ve noticed improvement in my skin and nails, and it doesn’t upset my stomach. The quality feels great and the container lasts a good amount of time. Definitely a staple in my daily routine now.

The best jar of powdered collagen peptides for the money. Great taste, mixes almost instantly in anything hot or cold, low calorie. All in all a great product.

I will preface and say I already knew about the product as I have been using the dark chocolate for about a month. I started using the vanilla to mix with my Oats Overnight shakes that I make. Due to the consistency of the oats, the solubility of the collagen isn't ad important, however, it does dissolve enough that it doesn't stand out from my shake and provides a really creamy base flavor for them. I have a really good regime for my skin, so I am not sure how much help they are yet, but I haven't had any weird side effects, no gastrointestinal issues (I am a slight intolerance to dairy and GERD), and no weird aftertaste. All in all, I would recommend them as a supplement, and would like to see more overtime how they improve my joint health and skin overtime.

I purchased this collagen (January 4th) because of the reviews and it seemed highly recommended. This was my first time taking collagen. I would put a scoop in my coffee every morning and I used a handheld milk frother to mix it so I had no problem with clumping or the powder not dissolving. The taste was okay, didn’t taste like a “creamy” vanilla but more of like a stale vanilla taste? It would probably be great in a caramel flavored coffee. It was tolerable for sure. After taking for a few days I noticed my nails started to peel. My nails have never peeled before, so this was obviously new. We had just got back from a weekend at a water park and thought nothing of the collagen being a factor because we were in highly chlorinated water. But the peeling of my nails has not stopped. Despite the peeling I still finished the whole container. (February 10th) I have not really noticed any other change other than my nails. Although I would love to continue this brand of collagen I have moved on to another brand to see if peeling still continues to happen.

Very happy with the product so far. This product has helped my knee pain from the humidity that is in the south. I mix it into my coffee every morning, has a pleasant taste and mixs into the coffee very well.

I am so happy I decided to try this collagen peptide powder- because the vanilla is probably the best I have ever tasted! My usual go-to has been Vital Proteins but this one was one sale so I took a chance. I’ve used a few Sports Research supplements (fish oil, phytoceramides are both top notch) so I hoped their collagen would be as good as their other products. And yes, it did not disappoint! Powder dissolves easily in cool water with no clumps at all, plus the flavor is a much more natural and subtle vanilla than Vital Proteins. I compared both side by side and couldn’t believe how chemical and artificial my previous powder tasted. Turns out VP uses Maltodextrin in their products which is one of the worst additives and probably accounts for the chemical taste. This one does not. I love that this product comes in a container- not a cardboard tub that’s impossible to open without a knife (I’m looking at you VP!). Plus, it comes with an actual scooper to make dosing easy. Trust me, I’ve tried a whole slew of brands and very few include a scoop! I guess the only downside to the plastic container is that well, it’s plastic. If you are trying to cut down on microplastics then this one may not be for you- but I still think the added Maltodextrin in VP is worse than the small amount of microplastics in this one. The types of collagen are the same to VP (type 1 and 3) so I don’t expect to see or feel much of a difference since I’ve been taking collagen for a while now. I do think this tub should last a little longer though considering that 1 scoop is around 11g of collagen and each scoop of VP’s was 5g. Bottom line… highly recommend and will definitely add to my subscribe and save!

Cloying vanilla flavor, extra stirring to dissolve. Gave away!

Taste: Most have said that this has no taste and breaks down easily. I haven’t found that to be true. I tried putting it in juice, and it was clumpy. So instead I put it in my morning coffee, and it made the coffee a little bitter. At first, I thought it was because I was getting over a cold. But then I actually made a cup of coffee the exact same way with and without it, and tasted the bitterness. The vanilla is slightly better. That said, it’s not terrible. It was just slight. As for results: I’ve always had thick hair, strong nails (except for after I gave them gel painted), and supple fairly wrinkle free skin (for a 49 year old). I’ve been taking this supplement for about 8 weeks now, and the one thing that I’ve noticed is that my hair doesn’t break off in the shower anymore. I have very little hair in my hairbrush too. And less “frizz” at the top of my head (my hair is naturally wavy), particularly with break offs. Plus- I sleep fairly soundly and in in the same position throughout the night. And often woke up with a backache/neck ache. I haven’t changed anything about my bed or pillows (wanted to see if this product was worth it or not). And the pain is virtually gone. Therefore, I’d truly call this result successful. So- if I could, I’d give 4.5 stars for the slightly bitter taste, but 5.5 stars for the results. It’s super cost effective, with another brand with essentially the same ingredients costing twice as much as this one! Thus the reason for the full 5 stars!

Easy to dissolve and has a mild vanilla taste which is great added to coffee

This product is amazing. I always buy a new one before I run out. Works for hot or cold drinks, mixes well, fresh and delicious vanilla flavour. Thank you! Adds a vanilla boost to my coffee while incorporating the nutritional benefits!

This has a great flavor as such supplements go, not tasting like a bunch of artificial sugars, but more like actual vanilla. Also seems much better value than others.
