This gel is the best scar gel I have ever tried, it's better than retinoids.I can't say if it works on old scars, but it définitley works on new scars.The gel is very strong: I underwent surgury in January and started massaging my scar wth this gel too early in my healing process, the gel seeped in underneath my stiches and possibly provoked excessive scarring repair that swelled up and burst the stiches. I had to undergo surgery again to open up my wounds and cut out the excessive tissu created by an accelerated scar repair process. Doctors don't know if this event is due to the use of the gel that seeped in underneath my stiches or if it is my own body that worked too hard on the tissu repair. My skin usually heals very well so it may just be my own body, but I have the feeling that this gel may have had a part to play in this excessive healing process.Now all is well, my scars have healed incredibly well, they are already white and my doctor is bewildered, he hasn't seen this before but we are happy with that; especially me ;)I usually heal very well, but I sincerely think that this product accelerated the process. I massaged it on my closed scars once a day and that seemed to be enough.Pros:-It really works.-The pump system is very hygienic compared to other healing creams, which is great for scarsCons:-There is not a great amount of cream in these bottles, which makes the product expensive.-I had to buy 2 bottles to cover 6 months.In theory, you don't have to use very much of this product for it to be effective, but I didn't skimp on the amount of gel beacause I didn't want to take any chances on my healing process, but maybe I could have used less gel.My conclusion is that the effectiveness of this product makes it definitely worth the high price.

SHAME ON YOU, PAULA'S CHOICE, FOR SELLING OLD PRODUCTS YOU HAD LEFT OVER FROM WHEN YOU PULLED THIS PRODUCT AND STOPPED PRODUCTION OVER A YEAR AGO. IT'S MEANT TO BE USED WITHIN 6 MONTHS. SAYS SO RIGHT ON THE TUBE.AND.... I KNOW CUZ I USED IT ON A NEW SCAR 2 YEARS AGO. THIS ONE HAD A LIQUID, CLEAR CONSISTENCY. THE ONE I HAD BEFORE WAS OPAQUE AND A THICK SERUM. IT EVEN SMELLS OFF.

I am not going to lie. I purchased this product hoping it would be a miracle product. I am 26 and had severe acne from 17-21 and got lots of acne scars. My skin has finally settled down for the most part so I researched products that were recommended for old acne scars. This product was one of the higher rated products that wasn't going to cost me to take out a small loan for. I saw absolutely no effects.Maybe this product will work on new scars but I can't recommend this for old scars.

If you are going to buy a scar reducing serum of any kind, it's important to realize that nothing you buy on a shelf will ever completely remove a scar, as that's impossible. Only laser surgery or time will take care of a scar to it's best ability. However, if you want to help your scar along, to heal faster than it would naturally, that is when you should buy a product such as this. I have only been using this once a day, every 2 or so days, which is not the recommended amount, so my results are still an on-going process. I have only been using it for a max of 1-2 weeks, too. I have noticed that my scar is less red, it is looking more brown or flesh toned now, but I don't know if that's because of this product or it's own healing process as my scar is only 1 month old. I will continue to use this, but I wont buy it again because the price is too expensive for the amount you get. Mine came in a sample-sized pump bottle, different than the squeeze bottle shown in the image. I have to pump a couple times to get a q-tip sized amount of product out. I am still hoping my scar continues to improve, and I will keep using this until it runs out. Just be realistic about your expectations, that's my advice.

I have a scar on the back of my leg from an autoimmune skin condition. This gel had really reduced the redness and overall improved the appearance of the scar. I use twice a day, in the morning and then before bed. I have not tried anything else.

Used this faithfully on post surgical scar. Amazing results. Fast absorbing and non greasy. Will buy this one again when needed. Price is great for the powerful ingredients. Paula is a woman to be trusted in the fast moving, greatly hyped world of cosmetics.

My husband and I have both had surgery's with scars where they show. I have trusted Paula's productsfor many years so we tried this treatment. Best Scar medication on the market! Well worth the money.
