Garden of Life Dr. Formulated Organic Fiber Powder, Unflavored, 32 Servings

Okay so first thing, this stuff is GREAT. Second I read over all the issues people were having and I figured a few things out right a way. The first thing being the serving size, the bag says 1 tablespoon that must be some sort of typo. When you measure a tablespoon of this by weight it comes out to about 11g. That's double the serving size by weight and since the bag is measured by weight I'm going to air on the side that a tbl spoon is wrong. It should be more like 1/2 a tablespoon so you will get the recommended servings if you follow by weight not by tablespoon directions. Second people couldn't for the love of them get this to dissolve thus sludge and couldn't get it down. Easy fix just put it in a secure container I.E. my handy mason jars with a blender ball give it a good shake for a bit and your good. You can pretty much put it in anything it has a very mild bran flavor with no added sugar, obviously this is for the flavorless one I'm not sure about the orange one. I miss it entirely in my green drink and in water it's super easy too. No it's not flavorless or colorless lol but it works and it's relatively easy to put down.

I needed a replacement for Benefiber. Even it becomes available again, one too many recalls for plastic particles for me to ever trust it again. So, I wasn't thrilled to be paying so much more for this product and having to work harder to dissolve it, but I feel so better than ever. I wish I had switched years ago! The pre-biotic is absolutely fabulous, and if you're buying this for fiber, it's potent. I only use it every other day. No bad stuff going into my body and I'm not spending more after all. As for the number of servings, I get about 35 with a level tablespoon, so the comments about less servings are not accurate.

I've ordered the Garden of Life unflavored organic fiber for years now (I like to mix it with tea, coffee, and even when I make warm milk just to boost my fiber intake,) and have always loved it. It had a neutral flavor, so I could add it to literally everything I ate or drank. I tried the citrus flavor once and it was overpowering and couldn't be mixed with anything other than fruit juice, so it was a no-go for me. My local store, sadly, stopped carrying the unflavored version, so I came to Amazon, and while Amazon did save the day, the package of unflavored that I got was different than usual. The exterior packaging was exactly the same, and as you can see in the lower right corner, it says it's unflavored, but immediately upon opening it, I noticed a strong citrus scent and the powder was a different color. Usually, it is a very light beige with little flecks of dark brown throughout (probably the acacia fiber,) but this time, it's a pale orange with no flecks at all. And it has a definite orange flavor...not as strong as I remember the citrus being, but still quite noticeable. I don't know if this is a new formulation, or if somehow there was a goof at the factory and they packaged the citrus in the unflavored version, but it was a definite bummer. Just something to keep in mind if you're looking for truly unflavored like I was.

I have been using this product for a while now, mainly b/c my holistic doctor advised that all of us should take fiber! It's good for easy #2s!! My husband likes the orange flavor, which he says tastes like tang! I used to love tang but to me the orange didn't taste anything like that, so i got unflavored and I mix in my blueberry juice with it and it's delicious! My husband mixes his w/ 8 oz of hot water, he drinks is like a tea. I do an 8 oz cup of cold water w/ 1/8 cup or less of juice. You have to let it sit for about 10mins before you drink it so all the clumps break up easier when you stir it. I end up having to stir it if I let it sit between sips, b/c I don't guzzle it down. But it keeps me regular and I love that! I do it once in the am and once in the pm!

Overall, I like the product. However, it does NOT match its description. In bold print, the package label says that it is, "Clear, Odorless, Unflavored..." and "Dissolves easily and mixes clearly." None of these claims are even remotely true. I usually try to mix mine in 16oz of water by adding it straight into the water bottle and then shaking profusely. I can NEVER get all of it to dissolve no matter how hard and long I shake. So, I tried mixing it in a cup with a spoon and then returning it to the bottle and it was just as difficult. The sediment at the bottom of the cup was my 2nd attempt to mix it after there were still clumps of product floating around in the water bottle. It does have a flavor, but I'm not sure what it is. I mix mine with flavored water and it changes the taste to a green tea like flavor, which I like so that's ok for me. I don't know what plain water would taste like after adding this mix. It does have an odor...to me, kind of an oat smell, but not overbearing. It clearly has color. It looks like murky lake water. The effects on me are good, so it works well for me. I don't mind the flavor, so that's why I still gave it 3 stars. It's just that the packaging is misleading regarding its appearance. I will continue to purchase it though because it does meet my nutritional needs.

Unflavored doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a bitter taste to it. Does not dissolve easily or well and is far from clear, more like a glass from a mud puddle. Leaves a gritty feeling in my throat like I swallowed sand. I tried blending it yogurt to hide the flavor, might be easier to buy another product the next time.

I put a heaping tablespoon of this fiber in a tall glass of water that I drink every single morning along with a scoop of pure ascorbic acid (vitamin c), power shot (a mix of organic super greens), a scoop of pre-workout on the days that I lift heavy, a scoop of BCAA powder on the days that I do cardio, 5 drops of vitamin D3/K2 and 3 drops of Iodine. I blend it with my little hand mixer and use it to take all my morning supplements with my breakfast. I have been drinking this mixture every day for over two years now and I swear by it. While I take LOTS of other supps, eat healthy and exercise, I feel like my morning drink is a key to how I've been able to go over 2 years without ever getting so much as the sniffles, and I'm as regular as regular can be! As for the fiber itself, it's very easy to mix, is tasteless and doesn't clump. I love the organic ingredient list and feel like it helps me keep my gut happy. Yes, this will settle in the bottom if you let it sit for very long, but that's just par for the course with pretty much any fiber powder so I don't think it's worth docking a star. I just use my little hand mixer or swirl it manually in the cup every 3 to 4 sips and that keeps it evenly distributed. If you're looking for a good fiber supplement, I can highly recommend this one! I sincerely hope this review has been helpful to someone else. And yes, I pay full price for it in my monthly subscriptions. Feel free to ask any questions!

Good Product

This product does what it advertises: great fiber and despite many reviews claiming it doesn’t dissolve properly, it does if you stir properly with a little patience. It has a very mild orange flavor but for the most part it has no flavor. I’m satisfied with this product.

This organic fiber contains orange peel, so that could be what makes it take a little bitter. It clumps a bit in room-temperature liquid, but is easy to swallow. Many thanks to the seller for delivering early!

Produced years ago and expiring in less than a month , flavored, and package is wrinkled so bad!

Hard to dissolve. And has a funny taste .
