Had potential but doesn't work well
When we got the scale it worked great the first couple days. A few weeks later it stopped syncing for my wife. I could get it to work but she couldn't. Deleted the app, reset the scale, and it'd work for her for one weigh in then nothing again. It's been a couple months now and it works for me about half the time. Sometimes just pressing the reset button gets it working. It never works for my wife no matter what I do. And to make matters worse, it's degraded down to where it only holds charge for 2 days. Not even exaggerating. We put it on the charger before we went on a trip so it charged 3 days. 2 days after we got back it shows LO and needs charged. I contacted HUME and they said: "Since your Hume Body Pod scale was purchased through Amazon, any issues with the product, including replacement or refund requests, will need to be handled directly by Amazon. They are the authorized seller for this order and will be able to process any warranty or return claims. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope this is resolved quickly for you. If you have any questions about using your Hume products purchased directly from our website in the future, we’re always happy to help." HUGE disappointment for something this expensive.

Well Worth the Money
First after reading several poor reviews and now after having the scale for a month, I'm going to say most of them are operator errors. Not once has my Android or my wife's Apple failed to connect. Simply start the App and allow it to connect before stepping on the scale. Now if you are looking for a comprehensive in home deep dive into your health journey you've in my humble opinion found it. Is it cheap no, but isn't your health worth it? So all that be said I would hesitate to recommend this scale to anyone who is serious about their health!

Disappointing and Overpriced
The biggest issue with the Hume scale is reliability. The app almost never syncs properly. To get a single measurement to register, I often have to open the app repeatedly, toggle Bluetooth on and off, and retry multiple times. Even then, it might sync once out of 15–20 attempts. At that point, it stops being a “smart” scale and becomes just a very expensive regular scale that shows weight — because that’s all I can consistently access. For a product at this price point, this is simply unacceptable. The whole value proposition is seamless tracking and data syncing, and when that core function fails this often, it makes the experience frustrating rather than helpful. I’ve used much cheaper smart scales that sync faster and more reliably. For the amount of money spent, this is easily one of my worst purchases. If reliability and ease of use matter to you, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Final Update: Turn Off Wi-Fi! It works!
Final Update: Also, must turn on GPS (Location Services). It still behaves hit or miss, but continued trying and it eventually connects Bluetooth. For all the great info it provides, it's worth it (to me anyway) to put up with the connectivity issues. So, 4 stars for the issue. Update: Someone here said turn off Wi-Fi. I did that, and it works! I didn't have to even press the reset button. It not only connected to my phone, it immediately started taking readings while I was still raising the handle up to measurement position. Probably why it failed completing, but 2nd try worked! It completed all body metrics scans fairly quickly! I was very frustrated with the connectivity issues. But turning off Wi-Fi seems to have solved that issue completely! Try doing this and see if it helps you. 5 Stars!!! Previous Review: (1 Star) Very aggravated with this device! It worked a couple times, now it won't Bluetooth connect! I've reset it, made sure it's charged, nothing makes it connect! Useless!

Fails to update -- does not work more than 24 hours.
When I received this it worked fine out of the box. But now, 24 hours later, it will not record any new stats. It is connected to my phone and appears to be gathering data, but it does not display the updated stats in the app. And, like all things app driven, there are no troubleshooting directions, and no human being can be reached to ask questions of. I sent an e-mail to Hume for support, but if this is like other high-tech, AI driven firms, I doubt I will receive any human help. When I reported my issue to Hume Health, I received an e-mail response to my issue that directed me to reset the scales and re-install the app. It worked the first time, but the next day, failed to update. I purchased this to have a convenient means of saving progress. But, since this product does not update, I'm back to "dumb" scales and a writing my results on the calendar. Another piece of hi-tech junk, long on marketing, short on customer service. Returning it to Amazon today.

Game changer
I have had this for three months and I feel that it has been an essential part of my health journey. At first I hated it because it kept glitching out and would stop recording my results, but it worked fine for my husband. So I kept trying and I found out that if I rotate the bar forward a bit in my hands so that more of my palm is making more contact with the sensor it works! I have adjusted my workouts to try and target areas that I was low on like my low muscle mass especially in my right leg. And there has been improvement! I know it is never going to be perfect numbers, but it is an excellent guide to at least see where I am improving or getting worse. These pictures show what has happened since I have increased strength training and have been eating healthier. Nov had higher fat percentage than Jan. I also have another scale and the weight number has been almost exactly the same as that one,but this gives me way more insight!

The scale loses connection with the app and has to be reset every other day!

Broken device even after a 2 hour charge. The pod wouldn’t even read my measurements or sync to the app. Bluetooth fails to connect.

I think the accuracy of the scale is questionable. It has my muscle mass about 2kg higher than the InBody machine at my gym, and about 1kg lower in fat mass. Overall, this skews my body fat percentage by almost 2%. It could be that the InBody machine at my gym is inaccurate, but since that’s what I’d used in challenges, etc. I participate it, that’s my benchmark. Also, if you drink a couple glasses of water, this scale increases your muscle mass by a similar weight. The app is also a bit problematic. It doesn’t sync activity with apple health, though it should. If you search online, this is a well-known problem that has yet to be solved though Hume is aware of it. This means the app gives you a perpetually low health score, which is displayed in big numbers at the top of the home page screen. Obviously, you can ignore it, but it’s not very motivating. I’d only suggest this scale if you’re ok with a devise that is consistently inconsistent, which may be fine if only this machine is how you’re gauging your changes in body composition, and if you don’t care that you may see a poor health score if they never fix this syncing issue.
