This Toslink splitter really comes in handy for a number of scenarios.
As a matter of background information, I recently purchased a new 4K wide-screen 75" TV. The TV I had previously was a 15 year old professional Samsung Plasma set which had more different types of connections than anyone could possibly use - and those connections spoiled me (that TV cost me $3000 some 15 years ago). Well, with many of the new 4K models, older connections such RCA or 3.5 MM outputs, are no longer there and most of what you're left with are HDMI, Toslink (sometimes digital coax) and USB outputs. This left me with a dilemma. I have a Yamaha soundbar/subwoofer unit with an RCA input and previously, I would run a toslink cable from my TV set to an SMSL Digital to Analog Converter (DAC), and RCA cables from from the back of the DAC to my sound bar. This has always worked for me. But I also have wireless headphones (2 sets of them) and I used to connect 3.5 MM audio cables to the transmitting bases - but no more. So after evaluating a series of different toslink splitters on Amazon, I saw that many were actual switchers that you had to either use a small remote or manually push a button to use the toslink output needed. This new LINKFOR toslink splitter is just what the doctor ordered. I now have the toslink running from the new 4K TV to the back of my DAC on one output, while the other two toslink cables (connected to the other 2 outputs) are running to my two wireless headphones (different models and brands) that have Toslink connections on their transmitter bases - wallaaaaaaaaa! And this LINKFOR works superbly. It splits the signals without affecting the strength or sound - and you don't have to use a remote to select which input you want (that was the big thing). Now you do have to plug the unit in. Since it's on a TV set, I connected an AC line plug to the USB cable (5V 2A), and just plugged it in. I couldn't be more satisfied with an electronic product. This unit only comes with one toslink (digital) cable and one USB cable for the power. Now if you have this near a computer (such as on a desktop, near-field arrangement), you can just plug the USB cable in to power the unit. However, anywhere else, you will need to get an AC plug (the ones where USB cables connect to them). This is one splitter that really comes in handy without any other gimmickry - highly recommended.

Awesome Splitter
I needed to split the TV output from a single, to at least a double. I have Phonak hearing aids, and use a Phonak Roger device that uses the TV TOS to send the audio directly yo my hearing aids. This allows me split the TV output, one to the surround sound, one to me Phonak device, and the 3rd in case I find I need another one. It is plug and play, easy to hookup, easy to use.

Optical splitter that works.
This optical splitter worked for me. I set it up to split between a sound bar and an external headphone system and it works fine.

Splits sound to my amplifier/computer speakers and a Bluetooth transmitter
Perfect for my needs. I use this LiNKFOR to split the sound coming out of my computer. My computer sound previously went via digital optical cable only into a small amplifier feeding my desktop computer speakers. I also needed the computer sound to be sent to a Bluetooth transmitter, my ReSound Unite TV 2 streamer, so I could hear sound in either or both speakers and my hearing aids without swapping cables at my PC. So I took the digital optical cable that went from computer to amp/speakers, unplugged it from the amp and then plugged it into the input of this device. Then I used the digital optical cable that came with this device to go to my ReSound Unite TV 2 Bluetooth streamer. And I added my own digital optical cable to go from this device to my computer amp/speakers. I can listen to one or both outputs simultaneously, and the stereo sound is just as good as before. I could add a third output if I wanted. I can control the volume on the receiving devices. NOTE this device ONLY works to split from one sound source to one, two, or three devices that are connected ONLY with digital optical cables. If the devices you want to send sound out and in don't have digital optical cable ports, this device won't work for you as shipped. (Other devices that can split signal using the cables your devices use would meet your needs better.) And note you only get one digital optical cable, so you may need to order extras. You may also need to get a USB power brick, if you have no free USB slots to plug the included USB power cord into.

Powered splitter works
Receive this product , passive splitter. Plugged one end into my TV, one end to the passive splitter input, and two outputs, one to my sound bar, and one to my receiver, they both work great the first time and they also work together at the same time. Excellent product for the money.

Good product
I've bought about 4 of these splitters. Using it to split off a soundbar and headphones from the TV audio. This latest splitter I had to buy because one of the older ones (about 4 yrs old) quit working. But I still bought the same item because I think the Linkfor Digital Optical Audio 1x3 splitter is a quality piece and I can plug the USB cable into the TV for self charging instead of using a wall socket. Received it in the mail very quickly.

Works perfectly. USB power FTW.
I bought this for splitting the optical out from my TV to a soundbar and Sennheiser RS 175 Wireless headphones. I checked the sound quality and volume level with and without the box. Sounded exactly the same. The beauty of this product is that it powered by a USB plug that you can connect to your TV. The box powers off when the TV is off, so it isn't always burning power and cooking the equipment. It is also super convenient to not have to find yet another AC outlet to plug it in, like some other devices. The reason you purchase a powered or (active) splitter instead of the cheaper passive splitter is that the signal gets rebuilt before being sent out. In this way, you don't lose any quality with that could happen with a non-powered/passive splitter. All in all, a great little, well-made product.
