Works as advertised.
Light and airy soil, retains just enough moisture. I’ve also used it with orchids as well. I wish the bag was a little larger but it is a decent value. As you can see my pitcher plant flytraps are doing well. They’ve shared this bowl for over a year in a plastic box terrarium. The bowl is 10” in diameter.

My plant has taken off!
I bought my little Venus Fly Trap in a too-small terrarium so it was a little deformed and it was planted in peat moss. I got this soil to transplant it into the glass terrarium I bought for it and was nervous about switching it to a completely different soil so I left a good chunk of the peat moss around the roots. Ever since I switched it, the plant has just beautifully prospered! It’s color brightened to a more healthy green within a day, in two weeks it grew significantly in size and now three weeks in, it is sprouting new maws like crazy! I gradually mixed distilled water and the dry soil in a bowl to make it a bit more than slightly damp then added it into the terrarium and made a small hole that the plant would fit comfortably in (about two inches of soil at the bottom) and gently laid it in the glass then covered the base of the plant with extra soil from the bowl. I add in just enough bottled or distilled water every week to keep the soil damp. Hope this helps! :)

Breath of life for ailing Flytrap!
This product works great! Trying to find horticultural supplies to make your own Carnivorous Plant soil locally in the dead of winter is nigh impossible. This allowed me to replant a Venus Flytrap that was rescued from a “cube of death” at a big chain store. The previous soil it came with had no perlite to maintain proper hydration without being over saturated leading to root rot. The plant looked like it was on its last legs until I replanted and now a week later I am getting new growth! Thank you!

Good quality soil mix for carnivorous plants
I recently bought a Venus fly trap from a nursery and replanted it using the Organic Earth carnivorous soil mixture a little over a week ago. It’s taken to the soil quite nicely so far. Although I’d like to know the exact percentage of perlite in the mixture as acid-loving carnivorous plants tend to need only about 20% perlite due to its alkaline nature I won’t complain too much about the lack of information given due to the fact that the plant has been growing nicely in it (so I assume the proportions of peat moss to perlite are appropriate). The price is a bit much for a quart bag considering the fact that my smaller flytrap needed a bag and then some. But it is good quality as far as I can tell. I would usually avoid recommending mixes that don’t specify “sphagnum” on the label because some brands use the term “peat” pertaining to moss very loosely but this mixture definitely contains sphagnum peat moss. Overall, it’s a good quality product that I would definitely consider buying again.

Perfect Size for a Terrarium
This is the good stuff but it’s way over priced. That said, the bag is the perfect size for one or possibly two carnivorous plant terrariums. The bag is sealed similar to a food product, so it was fresh with no bad smells and the quality is excellent. Just what I needed for my Venus fly trap terrarium.

Perfect for venus fly trap
Exactly what I needed to repot my venus fly trap. I was nervous when it was time to move her to a larger pot as I have read that venus fly traps can be picky about their environment. I did some research and this was the most recommended I found for the type of plant I have. I followed the simple instructions and she had no issues being transferred. It's been a couple of weeks now and she is still doing great.

It's ok.
I didn't care much for the white styrofoam balls in the dirt. They seem to get stuck in the plant. I would like to find one that doesn't have this next time I need some dirt for the little plant. Other than that. I guess, the dirt is ok.
