Lexicon for the POTA
I got this book to learn more about the world of POTA and its people . The book I got was not new it had folded pages and the cover had a very large folded crease in the cover and a small one on the back cover also. A little disappointing but very cool ,lots of great stuff about the apes

The Only Info I could find on a Huge Mystery!
As a testimonial states from the forward: "The kind of book I only wished I had in hand when I was twelve..." No truer words could be written about this very impressive volume. Mr. Handley shows attention to detail on what at times can be a very confusing and contradictory subject. No effort has been spared to bring to the surface every aspect of franchise lore and legend. The mind-blowing illustrations by Mr. Carbajal only put paid to this wonderful work of a favorite film franchise beloved by millions since it's debut forty-three years ago. As I wrote in the title of the review, From Aldo to Zira: Lexicon of the Planet of the Apes, answered part of a question I had about a little known chapter of the franchise, namely the 'apesolutely' fantastic short film: Salvation for the Planet of the Apes, made in 1976, by Orange County, California photographer and filmmaker Vern Dietsche Jr. Salvation was until I read this book, was a mystery. Now with reading the book, I've been invigorated to do my own research into the 'forgotten' apes film until this mystery is solved. If you are a fan of the franchise or a fan of science-fiction will appreciate the text, the information, the illustrations, photos and layout of this book.

And the artwork is really nice too!
This book is the new Sacred Scroll for any Planet of the Apes fan. I have had this for a few weeks now and I'm constantly finding and reading about things in the franchise that I was not aware of. If you're a casual Planet of the Apes fan, this book will only whet your appetite for more. This book may only cost you about $30 here on Amazon, but that's not what you'll end up spending once you start buying novelizations or DVDs based upon the additional knowledge that this book will impart upon you. The entries are concise with additional details listed when necessary, and characters that were the same, but from a different medium/franchise, each have their own entries. And the artwork is really nice too!

Planet of the apes-------LEXICON
This book is a must for any pota fan,it is well laid out with clear and precise descriptions about everything concerning the franchise. So far I have found only one name not entered in the book, but as the character is not seen, only mentioned, I understand the omission. Also included are brilliant illustrations throughout for many entries including full page drawings of some well known characters.I have read it from cover to cover and I only wish someone had done something like this earlier. This product gets a huge thumbs up from me and I advise all fans to go ape over this brilliant book.

Wonderfully complete guide
An obsessively complete guide to every incarnation of Planet of the Apes, presented in encyclopedia format. Just as good as Handley's previous Timeline Of The Planet Of The Apes: The Definitive Chronology . Oversized trade paperback, with beautiful interior layout and design. Endlessly fun to browse through. A magnificent achievement.

From Aldo to Zira: Lexicon of the Planet of the Apes: The Comprehensive Encyclopedia (Volume 1)
"From Aldo to Zira: Lexicon of the Planet of the Apes: The Comprehensive Encyclopedia" is another excellent reference book on the franchise. I also recommend the the previous "Timeline Of The Planet Of The Apes", both are by Rich Handley and are the definitive source on everything about Planet Of The Apes.

Lovely book yet confusing to read.
It should be said I'm a massive original movie series Planet of the Apes fan from the 1970s. This book is legitimately comprehensive in ALL things 'Apes' related and it does give the finite details for the original movies, Saturday morning cartoon series, comic books, 70s TV series and the Tim Burton remake. That said, this book lost me with its sea of abbreviations the reader is expected to follow and a incoherent timeline which is all over the place. It's difficult to follow a train-of-thought through-out the book, and I suggest it's more a reference guide for fact checking rather than a biography.

If you are a POTA fan,,,,,,
Very simple. If you are a POTA fan you will really enjoy this as I did, if not, you won't. If you like all things POTA, it's a must have, if you are a casual kind of "meh" POTA fan than move on.
