Try a heavier weight oil or an oil specified for "high mileage" cars. Another thought: try STP oil additive. Also, I would be wary of how the high zinc content in this oil interacts with the catalytic converter. **Q: Is these sae 10w-30?** A: YES...It says right on the front of the container SAE 10w-30. **Q: How much zinc ppm?** A: What I found is 2100 ppm. I used it in my 71 350 sbc this year for the first time. Have always used a zinc additive so far so good. Good quality product as all lucas products are. **Q: Jug on back says not recommended for cars with cat. converters. have a version with zinc for cars with cat. converters?** A: The reason it is not recomended is because zink can harm the catalyst if it comes in contact.
