Bought for my buddy for Christmas and he still talks about it as best gift he could ever get

Great rod, reel leaves much to be desired.
As with all Ugly Stiks, this rod is an exceptional value. Perfect for younger kids and those of smaller stature. The reel on this combo? Not so much. It will work, but I strongly recommend swapping out for a Zebco 33 Micro. The reel is just not built for the abuse that kids can dish out.

Great rod, really fun for bass fishing.
The metal bracket on the reel (the handle you use to reel in) was twisted. Wasn’t able to do a full rotation without scraping the cover of the line. Had to take it off and put it in a vice to twist it back straight, once that was done it worked great.

Replacement uglystick

Decent rod and reel combo
We bought this rod and reel for our daughter. First upgrade from the snoopy kids fishing pole. She likes the easy casting. I think the rod is too long and has a sloppy action. Other than that it’s the prefect low cost upgrade for kids

Finally arrived after cancelling and reordering from Amazon US. Seems like a good rod with good reviews. My son can’t wait to catch a big one on it.

A great rod! If you trout fish this rod is a must. Love the fact that it breaks down into two pieces. The action is great and the reel is flawless. A great investment.

Great price for a gx2 rod. I purchased the 5’6 medium combo. Arrived in good working order! I’m a big fan of uglystik rods. Some people are saying the reel is cheap which it is, but the rod alone is worth it. For what you get it’s easy to purchase a nicer reel.
