30,000 BTU Electric Above Ground Pool Heater for 8,000 Gallon

Love this heater!!! Our pool got up to 91 degrees! That has never happened. We are in Midwest Michigan and the nights can get cooler while we have hot days. The pool temp would drop dramatically and never get very warm in the day even though we had a solar heater and blanket. The heater is extremely quiet! When we first connected the heater we couldn’t get it to turn on. We reached out to the company and they sent a new part along with a video of how to fix it. It was super easy! Now we are enjoying our lovely heated pool!!! It is definitely worth the money spent - excellent value!

Purchased the 58k BTU model for a 24’ x 54” above ground pool. After much research, this unit appeared to have the best performance, warranty, and value when compared to similar class competitive products. The unit was well packaged and appears very robust and well made with quality materials. It installed easily in a weekend with parts available from your local hardware. It is extremely quiet and can’t be heard over my 1.5HP Hayward filter system. It did leak at first start up. I found the factory installed water adapters were loose. They are designed to seal by o-ring, but I added some thread sealant anyway and torqued them down. No more leaks. Their customer support team is extremely responsive, which helped solidify I made the right decision. So far, the heating performance is as expected. There are many factors that affect how quickly the pool will heat. You also need to be grounded with the right expectation. If you want to heat your pool temp up by 20+ degrees in a cold climate within 4 hours, you’re wasting your money. Go get a gas unit and watch the dollars flows. If you want to be realistic in how much you can heat and how quickly, this is the perfect unit for you. The one thing that could be improved is the app. I would love to see them develop their own app to get similar function as what you get on the unit interface.

5 star product and 5+ star product support. I purchased a differnt heat pump that only lasted 1.5 weeks and died. I returned it and purchased the Varpoolfaye 30000BTU heat pump. The heater came with several adapters but not the one I needed for an Intek pool. I spend a week or so atempting to 3D print the correct adapter but it dripped. I contacted support on a Saturday and I got a reply Sunday morning asking for pictures and details of what I needed. It was a $10 dollar part and suport offered to pay for it but I was so impressed to get an answer in the weekend that I said I would pay for it. I got the part, it was correct AND support paid for the adapter anyway! 100% happy and now I have a happy wife with her 88F degree pool.

We initially purchased the 5000 gallon unit, however it could not keep up to the pool so we thought. Amazon was great and exchanged it for the larger size. This unit has also never kept up to its claims on the product. It never heated past 70's. We contact customer support for the company directly and they were a hassle to deal with. They were willing to upgrade for the price difference which I understand, but with that the unit I have is claimed to be more than ample for my pool size and equipment. Even if we were to pay the difference We got a quote from an electrician to upgrade our power supply would be a little over $900. So we finally came to an offer after several weeks and several calls to accept a refurbished unit of the same exact unit we have, it works for 4 days and completely gave out, not only did this also not even remotely het, it gave out. We tried several other outlets, and even plugged in other devices to the same outlet which did work, and now they wont even refund or replace. They have even blocked my number, as I followed up and it gives me the number is not in service however when I call from other phones it goes through. DO NOT PURCHASE from them, terrible units and terrible customer service they just took my money and left me on the hang.

I ordered the 40,000 btu heater on a Tuesday at 6:00 pm. It was in my driveway the next day at 1:00 pm! (It shipped from a location 90 miles away, but still impressive!) It was packaged nicely in two heavy cardboard boxes with foam pads on bottom and top. I saw zero shipping damage. The shipper did leave it lying on the end - even though the box is cleary marked with a "THIS SIDE UP". This could be important since it has an oil-filled compressor. Just be sure to let it sit correctly oriented for at least an hour before powering it on. There are two handles built into the cabinet for easy moving, but it's pretty heavy. Not a big factor in my choice, but i did like the grey color better than white or black. The fit and finish on the cabinet is very good. It is a very nice-looking unit. It came with two 1.5" pvc adapters, so it was easy to plumb to my existing plumbing. I was also pleased to find that the power cable was already installed and ready to connect. It even had terminals attached but I cut it off to the length I needed. This made wiring to my existing breaker a 5-minute job. There is a control panel (thermostat) mounted to the side with a protective hinged cover. The control panel is backlit but the controls are a little cheap feeling and the icons are tiny. I would give it a 1/2-star knock for this, but overall I'm good with 5-stars. The control panel can be used to change the set point, set the clock, and change modes. You can also program a schedule, but i have yet to do that from the control panel. There also seems to be a troubleshooting menu, but I haven't looked into that. My favorite way to interface with this heater is with the wifi app. It's one of the easiest wifi appliance apps I've set up. You can control most features with the app from anywhere. It also has a query screen where you can see water temps, if the compressor is running, if there is water flow through the unit, etc. This could be a valuable troubleshooting tool. You can set up a schedule from the app, but it's not as full-featured in this department as I'd like. I tried the heater on the first night. The outside temps fell down to about 62F, and the water was 91F the next morning. We kept the solar blanket on overnight as well. By the 10:00 am the water was 93F. The outside temp got up to about 86F at peak. I then tried the cooling and it switched back quickly and started cooling it down. Our pool is in-ground 12,000 gallon, so it will take hours for a heater like this to make significant changes, but it seems to be doing what a 40,000 btu heat pump should do. This heat pump is VERY QUIET! The little noise it makes is a pleasant hum... .mostly just the fan blowing is what you hear. When in heat mode, very cool air is being exhausted from the unit, which could be good or bad depending on its location (vise versa when in cool mode). This isn't a ding, just a heads-up. I solidly recommend this brand. If I have any issues. I will update.

This heater/cooler is perfect for our in-ground pool. We purchased it last winter to warm the pool up and make it usable during the winter and now we are using it again to cool the pool from the Florida heat to make it refreshing again. It was super easy to install and came with good directions. It was shipped fast and well protected from damage. About a month ago we were having trouble with the display screen and customer support sent a new screen in days and I was able to get it back up and running in 20 minutes. Customer support was very easy to work with and extremely helpful. I would certainly recommend this product.

So far so good, only thing is the app sometimes doesn’t want to respond, it’s very easy to install, heating and cooling is a nice feature, very compatible with bestway or any soft type above ground pool brand . I thought it had a leak but it was just normal condensation, definitely a must have.

We LOVE this. It hasn’t got super hot this summer and the kids get to swim everyday anyways thanks to this. We built a cover so it didn’t get rained on based on reviews and so far no issues. We do have a smaller 2 ft pool but it was 74 yesterday and our pool was 94 😍

Love it!!! Best part: it runs on regular 120V outlet, however the current draw is near 15AMP max so don't plug anything else heavy on the same socket. Used it on average 2 times a week for 4 months on a 18ft x 9ft pool with no issues. We live in the Pacific Northwest so going from 66°F to a comfortable 84°F would take about 3 days of heating - 12 hours each day - in mid July. We got the heater up to as high as 94°F. Yes, you need to keep the heater running overnight and where we live the electricity rate is cheaper at night too.

The unit itself needs to be repaired after 1 year. However the manufacturer was incredibly easy to deal with and fully took care of me without any hassle. Very impressed with their customer service. ------ One year later and the units are dying. An HVAC tech said they have lost refrigerant and there is no way to refill them. The units are constantly icing up if the air temperature goes below 23C. So frustrating that manufacturers are allowed to units like this (and dehumidifiers) that cannot have refrigerant levels tested and refilled. ————— This is a great unit when properly matched to the pump and pool size. It seems to be most effective at around 600 GPH, so a bypass system is recommended if your pump flows faster than that. The pool should ideally be under 5,000 gallons (based on my personal experience). Note: A solar cover that completely covers the pool is essential. My pool is just over 5,000 gallons. I needed two of these units connected in parallel with a bypass system. After three days of varying temperatures, the pool has consistently stayed at 86°F. I’m looking forward to testing the “chilling” mode during the next heat wave. The unit draws 7 amps, with a slightly higher surge when the compressor turns on. Running it on an isolated circuit is ideal. Personally, I would not run it on the same circuit as any other appliances. Customer service was great—very quick, responsive, and friendly. I had a few issues during setup and installation, and they went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of. They even proactively offered solutions without me having to ask.

The packaging of this product is very good, and the logistics is also very fast. The pool heater is very convenient to use, and the effect of heating water is very good and fast.

Great Product – Excellent Support from the Manufacturer We initially had some issues with our pump and were not very impressed with customer service at first. However, the second time around, the company went above and beyond to help us, and we really appreciate their support. The real problem was with Amazon, but the manufacturer stepped in and handled everything directly. Once resolved, we were reminded why we chose this product in the first place — my sister has the same pump, and hers has worked perfectly from day one. These pumps are amazing, well worth the price, and once they’re back in stock, we’ll absolutely be buying another. We just had a bit of a hiccup, but the company made it right.
