Inexpensive passively cooled laptop with a nice display
I am not much of a reviewer but since there are currently no reviews for this I will give it a shot.I picked this laptop up because I was looking for a decent laptop that was lightweight, had a 1080p screen and didn't end up getting overly hot or have massive fan noise when I was sitting on the bed. I have been using it for about a week at the point of this initial review.Lets start with the cons:- The outer shell feels like cheap plastic- The keyboard is poor- The keyboard isn't backlit- The unit is not upgradable or expandableHere are the pros:- Nice 1080p display (more on this below)- 64GB eMMC is a nice size at this price- Inexpensive- Light for a 14" laptop (3lbs)- Long battery life- Passively cooled (no fan noise)At this price point I was pretty much expecting all of the cons but I was pleasantly surprised by the display.First the display is very nice for this price point. Better than some laptops I have that cost much more than this one. The 1080p resolution gives you decent real estate to work in. The display gets fairly bright. The viewing angles are good. My unit has no backlight bleed.I was also surprised by the performance. The laptop is responsive in both Windows 10 and Linux. I am only using it for basic tasks, web email, music and watching video but I have not had any issues. I was worried that a Celeron N4000 with only 4GB of RAM would be limiting but for my usage it has not been an issue at all. I wouldn't recommend trying to play modern 3D games or doing anything computationally intensive but for normal use, it works. The connectivity is decent. 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, HDMI, headphone jack and SD reader. Nothing exceptional but far from the worst I have seen. From a power/heat perspective it is everything I could have hoped for. It doesn't get extremely hot, doesn't have a fan and the battery lasts a long time. The keyboard is not ideal. It is not the worst keyboard I have used but it is far from the best. The primary issue is that the keys have virtually no travel. They do have a decent amount of resistance so you can at least tell when you have pressed them. It is also not backlit. For my purposes, I find this to be the only real downside in daily use. That being said, there are not many laptops in this class with a backlit keyboard. The trackpad is adequate. It is a little bit small and the "buttons" are loud and leave no doubt when they have been pressed. I do like that there is a generous area for the middle button as I often find the middle button spot to be too small and I make heavy use of it. It is also responsive.I am primarily a Linux user and I did install Linux on this as well. I have not yet found any major issues and all the hardware worked for me out of the box. The wireless required kernel 4.14 so I used a USB to ethernet dongle for the initial install but once I updated to 4.14 there was no problems.Overall, this serves the purpose I bought it for quite well. The cheap plastic casing worried me at first but I quickly got used to it. I wouldn't recommend tossing it around excessively. We will have to see how it holds up over time. I would definitely recommend it to someone who has similar needs. Some notes:- At this size/resolution Windows 10 will scale the display 1.5x by default which totally defeats the purpose of spending more to get a 1080p display. You can turn this off if in your display settings.- It comes with Windows 10s. I have read that Microsoft is now allowing you to convert 10s to Windows 10 Home but I did not try this myself.- The wifi hardware(RTL8822BE) needs kernel 4.14 or higher if you are running Linux----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------EDIT: Update after using for 28 daysI have really liked this laptop. It does everything I need it to do. Silent, good battery life, doesn't get more than warm and it has a nice display. All this for a very reasonable price. I found performance to be more than adequate for routine tasks. Email, web and netflix all performed fine. That being said, the reason this gets an update after 28 days of use is that is how long it took for the battery to fail. It lost contact with the battery altogether. Since a laptop has limited use without a battery and the battery is internal, I decided to return it. Luckily, it failed just before the return period ended.I am not going to change my rating because a sample size of 1 unit doesn't really have much meaning and I work with enough laptops to know that failures happen to all brands/models. Hopefully this won't be a trend for this model.Even though I enjoyed it I am probably not going to replace it with the same model. Since it is so new and there are very few reviews I just can't tell if my failure represents an anomaly or a design flaw.

Good little laptop computer.
I bought this laptop as gift for someone wanting a light, small laptop computer for office work, Internet browsing, and streaming music and videos. That person is thrilled with this laptop! My package was delivered as the laptop computer box itself, which was daunting at first, but the packaging and taping was unblemished. The labeling identifies the laptop computer model, features and that it includes a 1-Year software subscription. I was skeptical how redeeming the subscription would transpire as other reviews for similar laptop products stated this process may be difficult and may even have resulted in a refund for the software portion of the purchase.Inside you will find the laptop encased in plastic and foam protection as well as the literature on the device, the charger and other promotional flyers. It has the "plug-and-play" look, at least to me.The laptop came as described and seems to be of good construction. It features plenty of ports for various inputs; however, NOTE it does not have a optical disc drive, which I was aware of, but something you may want to keep in mind if a desired feature. Ergonomically, I think the laptop is comfortable to use and carry or hold, so does the person I bought it for who is much smaller than me.Powering the computer up went well and only took a few moments to load up to the start screens. Mine prompted me through the operating system setup, which is self-explanatory, but maybe only to the tech-savvy. Setup went flawlessly and redeeming, then downloading the software subscription was easy. I think this laptop is ideal for maybe someone whom is older or younger and not the most tech-savvy person as a lot of the downloadable and preloaded apps, such as music and video streaming services, make for simple navigation, launch, and use.The screen quality seems to be decent when streaming HD movies and shows, and the speaker sound quality is fine enough, but intense browsing with many tabs of Internet browsers and a few apps running will make the laptop lag a little. All in all, a 4.00/5.00 stars.

Not Enough Power Or Memory
This is a nice idea; I bought it in a different color. But believe me, it is slow. It is slow slow slow. Windows needs more than a N4000 processor and 4gb memory. It just won't function well with those specs. Spend a little more for a Pentium N5000 or better.
