Also, the pads are small (about 2 inches in diameter) so you'd probably need to use two for your whole face. I use one of these to remove stubborn waterproof mascara (one pad does both eyes) and then I follow up with a Ponds Towelette, which I use to remove the residual oil from my eyes, and then wash the rest of my face with it. The Ponds towelettes are much larger (about 6x6) and good at removing foundation, but they are ineffective at removing waterproof mascara. I've used this method for over two years and it works perfectly for me. **Q: I need the oily pads. confusing info. name does not say oil free yet description says oil free. which is it??!! even qa here conflicting.** A: These were crazy oily. I was very disappointed because of the oil free description. **Q: only for EYE makeup? How about lipstick- the all-day kind?** A: It works great to remove long wear lipstick. I use 2 mascaras 1 for volume and 1 waterproof (Essence also my favorite) I use 1 pad for both eyes and it works perfect! I have long lashes and I Never lose lashes, which I have with other pads. They were a bit tricky though. You have to leave the pad on lashes for about 30 seconds and then swipe and keep doing the same until it is completely off. I wear a lot of black eyeliner and black mascara, as well as eyeshadow primer. It smears all over my face if I start with a wet-wipe. I use these pads for removing eye make-up specifically. I usually need only one pad per eye, two max (one for liner, one for mascara). They leave a somewhat greasy film on your skin, but that's part of why they're so effective, the eyeliner just slides right off, and mascara is easily freed from the lash. I then use a face-wipe to clean any remaining oil (and now easy-to-remove eye make-up) off of my face.
