My son enjoyed sleeping in it while there was a hard wind and some rain. **Q: You can see the corners of the entry way are not secured and will flap about. How is this problem solved?** A: it isnt **Q: How weather proof is this for heavy thunderstorms and 50 mph winds (your sides don't look very secure)?** A: I ended up returning mine because the zippers are very poorly made. The tent is not freestanding so it needs many ground ties just to remain erect. I would think the wind would have a hay day with that. The tub bottom and rain poncho top though do seem to be fairly thick and waterproof. Inwould still worry about the zippers. **Q: What 3 season is this tent used for?** A: I would say very much so 2 maybe 3 season.
