PHILIPS210641 18-watt PL-L TUV Germicidal with 4-Pin Base Light Bulb

I used this to replace the bulb on my Honeywell RUVLAMP1 unit and it had identical markings to the Honeywell-boxed RUVBULB1 that was expired. The only difference was the Honeywell purchased version had notches cut into the bulb base (opposite the identical Philips markings) that corresponds to tabs on the Honeywell bulb holder. I removed the tabs and placed the side of the bulb base without Philips markings on the side of the filed off tabs. Direction likely doesn't matter since this bulb is reversible in other bases designed for this bulb, and I doubt Honeywell changed this up somehow. That said, to be sure, I matched the direction (polarity) out of an abundance of caution. Once I plugged it in, everything lit up as it should. Saving money is good!

This UV light is used to replace the honeywell 18w HVAC sterilizer. These lights really do make a difference. I have two installed and can definitely notice a difference in the air quality. Make sure you use Phillips only, has other bulbs that are cheaper are junk.

Old light went out on our pond sterilizer. This one fits perfect and still working after one season. Pond water is clear and algae free. Hopefully it will be good when we reopen in the spring. The original light only lasted one season.

Swapped this out for the generic, terrible quality UV light that came with my CoraLife UV sterilizer. This thing is far superior to most UV lights & I know this because after swapping it out, the water in my aquarium is much, much clearer. Additionally, expect to pay 2-3X as much for this in any home improvement store. The replacement bulb for my UV sterilizer normally retails for ~ $56, so this is a crazy bargain!-Ben

Burned out after two weeks. Could have returned back to a store with ease. No more online bulbs for me. (But, my 9 watt appears fine)

Bought this as a replacement lamp for a Honeywell UV air cleaner (which takes Honeywell part RUVBULB1/C). The bulb fit my air cleaner perfectly out of the box. Unlike some other reviewers, I did not have to trim any tabs out of my air cleaner for the bulb to fit it (perhaps it depends when the air cleaner was manufactured?). Also, I took a look at my old Honeywell OEM bulb, and it very clearly has the same markings as the Philips bulbs, so it appears Philips makes them for Honeywell - you're getting the same thing at a fraction of the price. That said... Be conscious of where you order it from and check the seller's ratings. Make sure you're actually getting the Philips bulb and not some knock off. If you purchase direct from Amazon.com you should be safe though.

Absolutely works with the Honeywell RUVLAMP1/C UV Air Treatment System. I was prepared to cut key slots in bulb base or cut keys out of socket but did not have to do so. Turned out my new unit installed in July 2015 did not have the keys in the socket base. Yes the original Phillips bulb that had the key slots went out for some reason with only 5 months use. I suspect it was defective bulb from the get go. I have certainly purchase defective light bulbs of all sorts over the years. From Amazon customer comments it appears that the new units like mine do not have the keys but the older ones do. Highly recommend purchasing this bulb for $20 rather than the same bulb with slots at $48 to $80.

Die UV Lampe war ausgefallen, also bin ich in den nächsten Gartenmarkt gefahren und hatte die Lampe für schlappe 37 Euro schon fast an der Kasse. Zum Glück war es zu voll und ich bin ohne Lampe gegangen. Eiegntlich will ich mein Geld in der Region lassen und nicht iregndwelchen Großfirmen in den Rachen werfen.ABER: der Preis bei Amazon war nicht nur niedrieger, sonder inklusiv Versandkosten 15 Euro niedriger. Und das ist ein Argument das bei einem Stundenlohn von 9 Euro sticht.Die Lampe ist einwandfrei, wie lange sie ihren Dienst tut wird sich herausstellen. Lieferzeit 2 Tage. :-)
