In recent years, contemporary composers have written a myriad of new works for the Sanxian, and are using sanxian in ensembles. Working with composers and musicians as well as luthiers, we are using paulownia to recreate the raw, traditional sound that is suitable for its operatic roots, as well as usability in the modern ensemble. The sanxian has bright solid tones, with long reverbs and good resonance. Comes with hard case, plectrum and OrientalMusicSanctuary provides USA-Based warranty. ## Features - Made with High Grade Rosewood with Paulownia Sound Board - Clear, Bright tones required in modern orchestral works and traditional operatic performances - Comes with hardcase, plectrums and more. - OrientalMusicSanctuary provides USA-Based Warranty ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07C2GSTDV | | Back Material Type | Rosewood | | Body Material Type | Rosewood | | Brand | The Bamboo Grove | | Brand Name | The Bamboo Grove | | Color | Clear | | Customer Reviews | 3.4 out of 5 stars 10 Reviews | | Included Components | Hard Case, Plectrums, Warranty Card | | Instrument | Banjo | | Instrument Size | Full size | | Manufacturer | OrientalMusicSanctuary | | Model Name | Sanxian | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Strings | 4 | | Operation Mode | Manual | | Size | Full size | | String Material Type | Alloy Steel | | Top Material Type | Paulownia | | UPC | 708088325847 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Back Material Type:** Rosewood - **Brand:** The Bamboo Grove - **Color:** Clear - **Instrument:** Banjo - **Manufacturer:** OrientalMusicSanctuary - **Number of Strings:** 4 - **Operation Mode:** Manual - **Size:** Full size - **String Material Type:** Alloy Steel - **Top Material Type:** Paulownia ## Images ![OrientalMusicSanctuary Rosewood Southern Paulownia Sanxian - Chinese Shamisen Banjo Lute - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31kfrA2tNyL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is there a video showcasing how this sounds? i want to be sure i am buying a shamisen and not a sanshin** A: It's a Chinese Sanxian, the forefather of the Shamisen **Q: Hello, is this a Da-SanXian, i.e. the largest one?** A: this is a xiao sanxian... **Q: were do i get strings for thIs ?** A: It comes with them.
