James Hautman A Messenger from Heaven Cardinal Heirloom Porcelain Music Box

I purchased one of these for his wife when my great-nephew passed away. I frequently give music boxes for a personal touch when a loved one is lost. I was captivated by the beauty, as well as the clarity of the music. The painting of the male cardinal is unusually beautiful, as is the design with the little heart attached to the vine on top which allows the lid to be lifted. The clear gems add an elegant look, as well. I was so impressed with it that the next month, a dear friend lost her husband, and as she lived out of town, I sent the same music box to her, as well. I have purchased several music boxes from this company and have never been disappointed! I have collected music boxes for 40+ years from all over the world, and though, this music box is very small, it's quality and beauty make it a worthwhile purchase! NEW REVIEW 9/5/2025 ----- THIRD CARDINAL MUSIC BOX ORDER-----HORRIBLE PACKAGING!! WOULD ONLY GIVE 2-3 STARS!! I just purchased a 3rd Cardinal Music Box and was vastly disappointed!! Not because there was a problem with the music box, it was fine and undamaged! It was packaged only in the styrofoam and put into a cardboard box much too large for it with a small wad of brown paper. I'd have to say it was a miracle it was unbroken!! There was no certificate with it to even indicate who the company was. Fortunately, I had it sent to me because I was including a few other personal items, or I would never have known there was a problem with the packaging, and my niece would have received this beautiful music box in a regular cardboard box with only some styrofoam and brown paper around it! ----- I would be mortified for someone to think that I cared so little that I sent them a halfway packaged gift. Packaging might not be important to some of you, but I think if a gift cost $96.00+ and arrived in this shoddy condition----there is a problem here!! I will not order another music box from this company, certainly not send one to someone directly!! THIS MOST CERTAINLY HAS TO HAVE BEEN AN AMAZON SCREW-UP!! I am homebound and continually order from Amazon. I will never have any meaningful gift sent to anyone directly from Amazon. I would rather pay a postage fee myself and at least see what condition it is in than have this happen again.

It’s beautiful but I was a bit disappointed about the packaging. It was a gift for someone so it looked a little cheap because of the way it was packaged.

I bought this for a friend who lost her son in a car accident. It was perfect! She loved it! Its very detailed.

We presented two of these to friends whose mother had passed on years ago and whose father passed just over a year ago. They had mentioned seeing live cardinals and thinking of the parents spiritual visit with them. They were both thrilled with the gift. The music boxes came very well packaged in styrofoam that was the ultimate protection against breakage. The music boxes were smaller than I had anticipated, as it looked larger as an item to order. I was a bit disappointed that it was quite small and the key to wind it was inside the box (not below), so that was a little surprising to me. It was, however, a small and beautiful music box. They were very meaningful gifts as one sister cried when she opened it and the other loved hers as well.

It came my wife loved it, she will cherish it for every. But my only complaint is that the serial number is smudged on the bottom had to tell too match it to the certificate
