An absolute MUST for hot summer days
4 YEARUPDATE 2022: It's been 4 years since I've purchased this portable AC unit. I've been using it everyday, when it's not summer I simply use the built in fan for air flow when I'm working and white noise when I'm sleeping. When it's blazing hot during summer I have the unit blasting cool air in my home office while I'm working and when I am done for the day and want to chill outside of my office I can run my central air and save A LOT of money on my electric bill. This is an absolute must buy if you're looking for some AC relief without breaking the bank. I will without a doubt buy a brand new one the moment this thing breaks down on me but it's been going strong for 4 years now and I still can't see it breaking anytime soon! ORIGINAL REVIEW: The central air in my house is broken and it would cost me nearly $7,000 to fix it so I decided to pass and buy this portable air conditioner and it gets the job done for a far less price. It’s only been a couple of days since I’ve used this thing and it’s been a LIFE SAVER. It gets up to 110F where I am and this ac unit cools down my room within minutes! I set it to turn off after 1 hour to save energy. I don’t expect this thing to cool down my entire living room but I always go to my room after work and I’m satisfied so far. My only complaints is the less than helpful instruction manual to set this up but you can get an idea on how to install this thing from YouTube, my other complaint is that it’s fairy loud but honestly the benefit far outweighs the cons so it gets 5 stars in my book. I’ll be sure to update my review if I encounter any problems, but as of now I’d highly recommend this unit if you want to beat the summer heat every year. UPDATE 08/19/18: It has been about 2 months since I’ve bought and used the unit now and I still stand by what I said about this device, it is a LIFE SAVER! My area has been consistently hot all summer with temperatures ranging from 99F - 107! And not once did I ever feel the summer heat indoors. This was definitely worth the purchase and is an amazing investment for future summers to come. UPDATE 05/17/21: It has been 3 years since I’ve owned this portable air conditioner and I firmly believe this is by far one of my greatest investments. It has reached upwards of 119 degrees where I live over the past 3 years of owning this AC unit and it’s been a LIFESAVER. I do not regret buying this and I can say with full confidence I would immediately buy a new one should this one fail; as things stand however, I don’t see it failing anytime soon!

Compressor life may be limited
Bought in 2023. Kept a small apartment mostly cool. Worked ok in 2024 and 2025, cooling a modest sized porch. Compressor mostly not running this year, but no errors. (Did not tip it during movement or installation this year.) Trying my luck with 12000 BTU unit this year because my window is set up for this 5” hose and adapters.

Unit works great, cooled down a small room during a heat wave superbly..but install kit is flawed.
This air conditioner exceeded my expectations, which were low for a portable unit as I'd never used one before. I'm in the middle of a broiling summer in the San Fernando Valley, with outdoor temps well over 100. My 2 bedroom apartment unit had been furnished with 1 measly wall AC, tucked away in the corner of a living room. The living room was comfortable but not cool, the bedrooms were unusable and I had taken to sleeping in the living room for days. I was fed up. However, I am not handy and was intimidated by trying to figure out how to address sliding windows so a portable unit seemed like the ideal solution. More expensive, but at least I could install it on my own. Unfortunately, the install was the worst part of this AC. The kit is poorly designed- my window was in the 30" tall range so the shortest piece (with the vent) was too small, but the extension pieces were too big so they would have obstructed the vent. The instructions only advised to cut to fit- how the heck do I cut this plastic? I don't own a saw. So I improvised in desperation and cut some thick cardboard from the box to fit the gap and bought some foam tape (the included foam was too wide for my window frame as well) to seal everything up. In time, I will likely cut some plexiglass for a stronger solution to this. After this hurdle, I have to say everything else has been wonderful. My (admittedly small) bedroom is now the coolest room, most comfortable room in the whole place and I had the best sleep after hooking this up. I actually had to turn it down because I was freezing by the midnight! Even in the height of the heat today (over 100), my room has not gone over 75 internal temp. Combined with a ceiling fan, this room is crisp and cold. It's not quiet but I would rather have this noise than be sweating and miserable. Plus the unit is easy to move with wheels when it's winter time. My expectations for cooling were exceeded with this machine definitely!

Piece of JUNK!
I am so sorry I bought this thing! I bought it at the end of last season so I'd be ready for this year. I noticed that it was running strangely when I first set it up but assumed I must be doing something wrong. I put it away for the winter and just recently got it out and I'm having all the same problems I had when I tested it last summer. I'm so sorry I assumed I must be doing something wrong, and did not just return it right then then and there. The AC compressor does not come on when it should, i.e. when the room temperature exceeds the temperature set on the unit. If it does come on at all it is usually after I've hit the down arrow on the temperature about 100 times. It will stay on for five minutes and then shut off and go to fan only. Room temp is not cooled to the setting on the unit. The fan randomly changes from high to low. I do not have it set on auto. I set the fan to high because I want it to be on high all the time whether the compressor is running or not because I don't like intermittent noises when I'm sleeping. The fan will just change from high to low for no reason! the room is clearly warmer than the thermostat is set for, but the compressor will not kick on. And another really big benefit is that sometimes the fan shuts off altogether although the unit is clearly is still on and the fan is still set to high, but no air is moving. But the unit panel is still lit up. And then there are times where the whole unit just shuts itself off and the panel gets dark. I had a different brand for several years that worked great (so it is not a power problem or outlet problem. That unit that worked fine for YEARS was a similar powered btu unit) and finally it died. I bought this one to replace it and I've regretted it ever since. Do not buy this thing!

Quiet, efficient air conditioner
*Update* It’s been almost 2 years and I am still loving this a/c. I remove the vent assembly in the winter and reinstall it when needed. It still cools my home as expected. I’d still recommend it! In face, I’m ordering another one right now for my ver hot laundry room 😁 ************************************* Sometimes shopping online is difficult because reviews are all over the place. I am so glad I ignored the negative reviews and purchased this unit! Is it as quiet as having central a/c? No, of course not. And you’re not very bright if you expect it to be. When it’s running I don’t even have to turn the volume up for the television. Our window unit was absolutely deafening and we could barely talk to each other even when sitting side by side on the sofa. Forget hearing the tv. So this was a pleasant surprise. I’d read so many reviews that it was noisy. We put this in the corner of the living room and having it pointing toward the middle of the living room which is approximately 15’x30’. Sea he vent to the window and it is nicely hidden by my drapes (and some other stuff lol). I set it to 74 and the room cooled down within 10 minutes. The living room is longer than it is wide and we sit about 20 feet away from the unit. The living room leads into the dining/kitchen and I can feel it all the way in there so I’d say it cools nicely. I thought about buying a 2nd unit for the master bedroom but decided since this is portable I’ll just roll it in there. Pros: Attractive (more so than a window unit) Portable Multifunction (cools and dehumidify) Cools quickly and quietly Covers a pretty large area Remote control makes life easier for couch potatoes No unsightly window unit banging away and blocking your view out the window Cons: Window vent was too wide for the window and we had to cut it to size. It would be nice if the manufacturer made a shorter panel. All in all I am very pleased with this unit and would highly recommend it.

SMALL AND MIGHTY
This is in a very hot room on the top floor that faces directly east in the morning sun in southern California- and works great/ It was purchased to replace a 15 year old A/C that no longer did the job, was very loud and took up a lot of space. This is easily 1/3 the size of the old one, whisper quiet and cools the room (which can be as hot as 90 degrees by the end of the day) in less than half an hour (even when set to 74 degress). It's a good value from a trusted brand. ONE BIG COMPLAINT ABOUT IT - the LED lights indicating mode, temperature etc are SO RIDICULOUSLY BRIGHT that they light up the whole room at night. It's light high-beam headlights on a highway. IT'S MORE THAN EXCESSIVE. I WISH the lights were adjustable to dim them. But since they're not, I've taken to piling things on top of it to block the light (which looks really ugly). So, if you're using this in a child's room or anyone who is light sensitive, buy something else. So, it works great, but this one major design flaw makes me wish I'd bought something else.

Decent unit for $400 and it's doing its job but control panel is annoying and vent can't be adjusted
I've been using this A/C unit for over a month now, and it does the job, but overall I'm not that impressed with it. It's a good size and it was easy to set up--I have a window that slides from side to side and the installation parts they include work well. With that said, I have a few issues with it. The main thing is that the design has some flaws in my opinion. The vent where the air comes out isn't adjustable, so the air shoots where it wants to go...and it doesn't exactly shoot straight out, more like at an angle, and it shoots more towards the ceiling than the floor or to the middle of the room, which is odd. Ok so that's fine I guess, it still shoots out cold air and cools the room down...It would just be nice if they made the vent adjustable so I could direct the air more to one side, and up or down, like the vents in my car. The other big issue I have with the unit is the control panel. The buttons are flush with the unit, they don't stick up at all, they are more like digital sensor type buttons than actual buttons you can depress, and they are quite annoying to use. It's like those new monitors that don't have buttons to turn them on and off but instead have the flush sensor type deal where you have to swipe your finger across them. These are fine for a computer monitor where you only need to turn it on or off, but on this A/C unit where you have to hit the button multiple times to make your selections it can be annoying and even a bit frustrating. A couple other small issues I have had with the unit are that once in a while it makes a sort of low 'rattling' noise...it's hard to explain but it's similar to this rattling noise that my old truck makes sometimes... I almost returned the unit because of it, but it was so hot lately that I just didn't want to deal with removing the thing from the window after I had got it in there perfectly and then taped all around the edges too, not to mention having to go a few days without an A/C while I was waiting for a replacement or the delivery of a different one. And the last thing I'd mention is that every once in a while the unit just turns off. I can't for the life of me figure out why... It's not at obvious times, like when it's the hottest outside, or even after a set period of time...I thought maybe it had some internal mechanism that automatically turned it off after 4 or 6 hours but that wasn't it. It only happens like 3 out of 7 days a week so far, so I decided to just ignore it...But again, I considered returning it but didn't want to deal with the drawbacks of that which I mentioned already. For $400 it is doing the job, but with these issues I have with it I can only give it 3 Stars max.

IT WILL NOT DIE
Bought this for our apartment in 2018. Well its 2026 now and its still going somehow. Its moved across the country, been shuffled around to different rooms countless times. All i've done over the last 8 years is clean the filter and replace the window kit a couple times. Its honestly pretty incredible its lasted so long. Its on right now, still going strong. No issues.

Terrible product, it’s not working and continues to rattle. Don’t buy. Customer service has been difficult to get in contact with.
