I got the large for my Cockapoo. He was only five months old but couldn’t stretch out in it. I sold it and ordered the x large for him. He’s 5 months old and weighs 9 kg

Do you think i would get away with a medium size for a cockerpoo?

Although I purchased this for my smaller dog, I also have a cocker spaniel and she fits in it (she weighs 12kg). I would only use that size for her for short journeys. If you are planning on using it for long journeys you'd probably be better with a large. Hope this helps.

Would extra large be an appropriate size for a labrador?

No I dont think these are suitable for large dogs. These really are small carriers and the medium size is now too small for my growing Beagle puppy of 5 months.
