In the 15 minutes it takes to walk my children to school, my flat-ironed naturally curly hair would balloon to a giant puffball unless I wore a granny-style plastic bonnet every day. Even doing that, it always takes 35-40 minutes to flat-iron my air-dried hair.After I received a salon keratin treatment as a gift, I was hooked. I had them for several summers, but cannot justify the $300-$400 price tag in my area, even though I wash weekly so that it last 4-5 months. I tried one other at-home treatment (One n Only Curl Remover, twice) and it did absolutely nothing. So, I sprung for this Forte treatment, figuring my hair is resistant, and wow, it's almost too straight.The formaldehyde released during application and flat-ironing at times made me cough and my eyes burn, but I mostly avoided that doing the treatment in a room with a fan blowing away from me, a floor length mirror propped up against a wall and an outside door a few feet away from me wide open. I tried doing it outside but it was over 90 degrees so I gave up on that.The first photo is flat-ironed, after treatment, which now takes 15 minutes. The second is what my natural hair looks like when I blow-dry it (my mother-in-law always tells me that will fix everything, yeah, no). The third photo is what Keratin Forte did for my hair- this is how it looks now AIR-DRIED. It went from a 3a to a 2a, maybe. The last photo is my natural hair before Keratin Forte, air-dried. I don't know how long this will last, but I did a ton of research and bought LuxeOrganix shampoo and conditioner and Pureology Color Fanatic Spray for heat protection to try to keep my hair smooth and shiny as long as possible. I really don't take time to post reviews, but Keratin Forte was a game changer. I have some time and dignity back. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love it. I am living in Germany (US military) and the charge for Keretin on my VERY short hair was 240 Euro! Ummm...no! I even struggled to pay $150 back in the states. So, the frizz finally got to me and I trusted this stuff. Glad I did. My hair is smooth and blowdries fast. Didn't even need the flat iron after washing the first time just dry and go. I have a lot of grays mixed in with white blonde (colored) so my hair was dry and straggly. I love this stuff.Save time, save money and love my hair more...I'm all in! Would never pay salon prices again. Not to hard to do. Did it on my own with my daughter smoothing out the hairs in the back. I have cowlicks - front and back and they are both tamed and staying in place. Will buy again. As for smell, yes it was a bit harsh and eyes watered a bit in the blow-dry phase and the ironing part - but it was exactly the same as when I had it done at the salon so no different doing it on your own. I would say it lasts for me about 3-4 months before I have to do a retouch. My hair is curly/coarse/thick but grows fast. This is the only product that has been able to keep up with my hair growth/type. I would recommend to use a non-paraban, non-sulfate, etc. shampoo and conditioner to protect the keratin treatment on your hair and last longer. Better than the Brazilian Blowout! I used to pay over $100 at the salon every time I did it and it didn’t last as long as this one, it wouldn’t get that straight either. I stopped doing the BBO and started doing this keratin treatment instead for about 2 years now and I’ve never been happier with my hair! It’s been a long time coming.
