Review: Good quality for money - These seem easy enough to make so I thought about making one myself but finding bamboo turned out to be harder than I thought in New England. There are likely better versions than this one but for the money this one has worked out really well. I decided I wanted to use a solar pump so I swapped out the included pump for a solar powered pump. My first install didn’t work as the catch basin was too small and the water level fell too fast. I ended up getting a 20”x32” x 9” high tub and burying it, putting a grate on top in which I cut a “door” so I could access the pump if I needed, and then I sat the whole rocker base on two Pieces of bamboo garden stake across the tub so that any water dripping down the fountain came back into the catch basin. I then covered the grate with smooth round stones and did a perimeter of larger rocks to contain the smaller stones and keep dirt from getting into the grate. So far it works great. We had to cover one square of the solar panel to get the pump to give just the right flow. The sound is probably the weaker point of this fountain—it’s a little blunt without the hollow sound you would get from a larger version that has a longer tube with more bamboo sections. But we didn’t want something too big and decided it was a pretty small difference. Some reviewers talk about the bamboo getting water-logged. Haven’t experienced that yet but it’s only been a few weeks. ...one year later, just reinstalled it after putting the pump and fountain away for the winter. Still working great. ….now 2023, so it’s been through 4 seasons. Still a great rocker fountain. I do take it out and put it away each winter so I’m sure that helps sustain it. It’s looking a little weathered and there are some external cracks in the surface of the rocket but they don’t go through to the inside so there are no leaks. Given the price I paid back in 2020 this was a no brainer and has worked out great. Would definitely buy again. Updated June 2025: it has now been 5 years and the rocker fountain is still going strong (though I’ve been through a couple of solar-powered pumps in the meantime). I do take it in each winter and reinstall in the spring. But otherwise it’s done really well. I’d still recommend it.

**Q: How long is the cord?**
A: The cod is 150 cm long

**Q: I want the pumps specs please.**
A: 120V, 60HZ, 2W.  Small pump, roughly 2 inch cube.

**Q: Does it make a sound when the bottom hits the standing pole?**
A: Yes, it makes a sound.  The bamboo standing pole is for convenience.  You can slip it off of the base and replace it with a real stone, which is the traditional sound.

**Q: The pump won't turn on. The instructions say to insert and remove the plug several times to prime the pump but it doesn't seem to work either.  Help?!**
A: We had to ensure the water supply tube was filled with water before it started working.. hopes this help because it's a wonderful fountain.

These seem easy enough to make so I thought about making one myself but finding bamboo turned out to be harder than I thought in New England. There are likely better versions than this one but for the money this one has worked out really well.
