I searched high and low for a high polished, gold tone shower curtain rod. Nothing else would do as I have high polished, gold tone Grohe bath fixtures in my bathroom. The faucet on my jacuzzi tub is massive and very dramatic so putting up any other color rod would not have worked. I couldn't believe how impossible it was to find what I was looking for. I came across a handful of gold shower curtain rods but they were all around $100. I don't mind spending money to decorate my home but for me, I couldn't see spending that much on a shower curtain rod. This "room divider" popped up in my search so I put it in my cart as I continued looking. I would have purchased it immediately but I read the comment from the seller stating it shouldn't be used as a shower curtain rod because it would eventually rust but how many of us have had actual shower curtain rods rust over time? Me! I purchased this anyway because I always wipe down my shower and fixtures after I shower, including the curtain rod so I don't see this rusting anytime soon. A review below states you can't make it shorter once you pull it out but that's not the case. It easily goes from long to short and back again. Another review states it tricky? There's nothing tricky about it. A 3rd grader could put this up. Takes 2 minutes. The rod is beautiful. It's very, very smooth and very shiny deep gold. Sometimes shiny gold tone can look cheap. This doesn't! My gold rollerball curtain hooks slide across this rod like a dream! The suction cups are excellent. I have an Italian porcelain tile up the walls in my shower that have a very slight "wave" texture. This rod sticks to it like nobody's business. Very tight and secure. I purchased the rod that goes to 50". My shower is 101" high and 45" wide. It's perfect and it looks EXACTLY like a shower curtain rod. Nobody will ever know it's a "room divider." I am extremely pleased with this product! The ease of use, the perfect shiny gold, the incredible smoothness make it well worth $30. I would recommend this product to a friend or family member. This is a quality product, I bought one to try, then two more to hang curtains in three sliders- 6', 8', and 12'. I wanted the curtains to be inside the slider opening as there isn't room to mount them above or out the sides. I used curtains with grommets that slide along the poles. The 6' pole was easy to install, no issues. The pole kept sliding down in the 8' slider opening, studying it I could see the problem was not the pole but the sides the pole pushed against- they were not parallel, and slippery plastic, so the pole did not grip well. I fixed that by putting a bead of hot melt glue under the pole ends to stop the sliding. (it sticks, but can be scraped off) The 12' pole sagged an inch or so in the middle, so I added a support to hold up the middle. It's now flat, and since the curtains open in the middle it's not in the way. This was a quick, easy, and inexpensive solution to my curtain problem.

The 2 best features of this tension rod are the extra-long length and the wide, non-marring flanges on the ends. When you need a tension rod longer than a standard “bathtub” length, this is the company to go with. This tension rod is great for wider spans — I needed one to span about 124 inches in a “temporary” space where I couldn’t drill or use installation hardware and this one worked perfectly! The flanges on the ends have a non-marring coating on the sides that touch the wall and the wider “foot” of the flange keeps it from digging into the wall, or “walking” down the wall while installing it. After all, you’re usually using a tension rod to keep from damaging your walls with installation hardware or marring your walls when using for a temporary or changeable situation. I also like the silver color/finish — it’s a beautiful “brushed metal” finish (not a cheap looking shiny chrome). This item requires some assembly, but all tools (2 Allen wrenches) are included, it only takes a few minutes and can be accomplished by one person. One assembled, you can easily adjust the length to the span required and install just as any other tension rod. I would definitely consider buying a shorter version of this if I even needed just a “standard” length tension rod because the quality is so much better than cheaper “bathtub” length rods that you find elsewhere from different companies. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

This is a very good product but it did not work for what I had in mind. I have a very big LR window that is 108" wide. I was looking to layer sheers with my regular drapes and this rod is the correct width and it was easy to install but it still had a bit of sag in the middle and the sheers just didn't work so I scrapped the idea. I think the sag was because we basically had the rod fully extended and no matter that we tightened it, the tension wasn't quite enough to hold it at such an extended width. If you are in the market for a super long, heavy duty but not industrial looking tension rod this is a very good choice but just keep in mind at the widest, it will sag, not considerably but enough that a nitpicky person might be bothered by it.

This is so convenient especially when you're in a pinch. I wanted to wait about 2 weeks before submitting my review. I was genuinely surprised by the quality and build. I did quite a bit of research. I think we've all been there. You scroll and scroll and filter out items by star rating and even price and even then you have your doubts. I narrowed it down between this and three different items and did a comparison of all four. In the end, this one had the better reviews and it was also aesthetically pleasing, when compared to the other three. The first thing I noticed about this item after a few days was nothing had fallen down, even with the addition of heavy blackout curtains. There really isn't enough time in the day to review things but this was actually worth taking a moment to share and maybe helping others cut down the time they search. I am certainly glad my search is over. LOL

Took down large bulky sliding doors to a 7’ closet so son can have full use of both sides at once. Took less than 15 mins. No drilling. No holes. And rod is smooth, so no seams for rings to catch on. Purchased the curtains from amazon too. The back wall is exactly 10’ long x 8’ high and the 120” rod fit perfect. (FYI make sure you slide on your curtain rings before joining rods together) Also Excellent customer service! Call them if you have issues with set screws. They were great in sending me a replacement and took time to explain how to get the 2 poles to join (the step1 picture in the directions could be improved, I think there would be fewer complaints). Make sure to loosen all 4 set screws in the brushed metal joiner piece with the Allen wrench before putting the poles together. It allows the brushed metal joiner piece to loosen and spin so you can get the screws to line up with the holes. Then screw to tighten the poles together. That’s all there is to it. Gives his room some style and now closet functions much better. Love it.

Summary: Sags in the middle (inches worth). Challenging installation. Prone to ends popping off. Though overall gets the job done, even if not as desired. Detailed Story: Bought this as it was the longest I could find. Was looking to hang a couple curtains without having to actually screw in anything into the walls or damage paint. The width of the window sill is 9 feet, so this I thought was the perfect length. The package was extremely poorly shipped (very long story... but looking at you FedEx!)... So the instructional packet was missing. No big deal since I found the installation video (here: [...]). Funny enough, 30 seconds on Google and found it, but Amazon Live Chat couldn't at all. Anyway I followed the instructions and found it extremely hard to keep that recommended 2 inches of tension. Essentially, it should be two inches longer than the distance you're hanging it up within. But even that is a tall order. I'm no body builder, but the strength you need to do this is substantial, and the slightest slip up and it drops and boom you have to start all over. So I hung it up once a saw considerable sag in the middle (about 3 lower in the middle than on the ends). So I figured that if I tried again with more tension, that may solve the problem. The first time was about an inch of tension with the second around 3-4 inches of tension... since that perfect middle ground was impossible. When taking it down for the first time, the end that you're not supposed to touch popped off! It went flying, screws, silicone end and all. Took a little while to find one of those screws. Thank God I did, but even then when I screwed it back on, the screws become torn (unable to tighten or loosen) so easily. I thought that the first one was a mistake, but it happened with both. Barely any tightness and all of a sudden now I'm stuck with how the screws are. The worst part of that is that now you can't ensure that that end will ever be perfectly flush, as it was out of the box. It stays on, but it's still loose. So annoying. So, second attempt. This time, I really took my time. Super, extra meticulous here. I wanted to keep the excess tension so it would hopefully stay straight. Long story short, no luck. I moved it into place very slowly and ended up pushing one of the sides up after already tightly laying the other side on the wall. Interesting cause on a 45 degree angle it's straight and narrow, but when pushing it up to be flush side to side, you guessed it... still a sag. The thing that sucks is that... The sag was worse this time! Ugh! Closer to 4 inches. And gosh there's no way I'm trying again. For a company that actually calls itself 'Room Dividers Now', this was a big let down. From FedEx screwing up the shipping, to the instructions missing, to the top popping off... you'd think that when it was finally hung up that it would stay flush, but it's not. It sags and it's so annoying cause now I can't say that it's blacking out anything. Yes the sides are great, but the top middle... light shines and shines through. If you're not looking for perfection this is a decent buy, but don't expect a straight line. It's going to sag, regardless of what you do. Imagine a subtle "u" instead of an "underscore". Otherwise no complaints. Thanks.

My bedroom window is 106" wide, wall to wall, and my landlord has a very strict "no holes in the wall" policy. Since I already know I'm only going to be living here for one more year, and I'd really rather not have to worry about dealing with my landlord, I've been hoping to find a way to hang blackout curtains without drilling in the wall. So I was really excited when I discovered this tension rod that's both long enough and strong enough to hold curtains without falling down. It's exactly what I needed. I ordered the used version for $29.95, and couldn't really tell what was "used" about it, except that it was missing a part when it arrived (a rubber piece on one side where the rod meets the wall), but after I contacted the seller through Amazon and explained what was missing, they sent a replacement part and everything was fine. I'm very satisfied with the product. It hasn't fallen even once, and it doesn't seem to sag in the middle at all. This could be because there's not too much weight on it. I'm only hanging two blackout panels from the rod, sideways using drapery rings, because the window is short and the heat registers on the floor mean the curtains can't hang down to the floor (plus it was cheaper to only have to buy two extra long panels to cover the whole width of the window)

Als erstes gibt es zu bemängeln dass keine Anleitung beiliegt. Das man das man die innen befindliche Stange rausdrehen muss habe ich bei "youtube" in Erfahrung gebracht. In der Mitte hängt die Stange cm weit durch, so dass ich diese mit einem Winkel stützen musste. Bei dem Preis war ich mehr als entsetzt. Und ich rede nicht davon das die Vorhänge schon angebracht waren. Okay, das Teil klemmt jetzt zwischen den Wänden aber über kurz oder lang werde ich mir wohl vernünftige Gardinenstangen anschaffen müssen.

it works fine but could not take heavy curtain, specially if you use the full length of the rod

I was originally upset with the supplier. I had made a mistake in ordering the wrong colour, and tried many times to get in touch with them before it was sent out and they never responded. However, I received an email from them a few days later on where they apologised for the delay in replying, saying that they strive to be excellent and because of that omission they refunded the whole amount back to me! I never asked them for a refund but they did it anyway. That goes to prove that they are a serious company. The rods themselves are excellent. Really high quality, easy to set up and very sturdy. I bought black-out curtains from John Lewis and they support them perfectly. Highly recommend the product and the supplier.

This was exactly what I needed for a 9 foot rod. My install instructions were not correct but that's ok, very easy to figure out!

It was not nearly strong enough and our curtains were very light. And it cost nearly $100 to return. Very unhappy and disappointed. I trusted this was an Amazon product... clearly it was not.
