Yellowbird Habanero Hot Sauce (2 Nanos + 1 Refill)

Edited 12/2/18: My obsession continues unabated. I still think this is the best hot sauce ever.I mix it with a little mayo and use it as a sandwich spread. I add it to chilli, spaghetti sauce, soups, and stews. I love it with scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. I've been known to put it on pizza and pasta. I've even taken it with me to restaurants because I hate the standard hot sauce, like Tabasco, available there. It's great with pho or Mexican food!I'm addicted!Original review:I am obsessed with this hot sauce. I put it on everything. I used the Secret Aardvark hot sauce for years, but the Yellowbird Habanero has surpassed it as my favorite hot sauce. Aardvark is tomato based, so it has a stronger flavor profile than this sauce, which isn't always a good thing. I don't mean to imply that Yellowbird is all heat, no taste, but the taste is really clean and light; you get just a tiny hint of sweetness, followed by a burst of heat, and then a citrus finish. Citrus (especially lime) is my favorite flavor; I eat it with everything. Yellowbird Habanero has just that hint of lime (it also includes tangerine juice) to make me happy.As for the heat level, that is so subjective I'm not sure how to rate it. I love spicy stuff and put hot sauce on everything, but I still like to taste my food. Yellowbird Habanero is a perfect heat level for me; it definitely has a good kick, but it's not overwhelming to the point that your mouth is burning and you can't taste anything. It has about the same heat level as the Aardvark; it's hotter than Sriracha (and much better).I have also tried Yellowbird's Jalapeno sauce, which I really like (it's not as spicy as the Habanero), although the Habanero remains in top place. I wish I could buy the Habanero in a multi pack, because I go through it like candy.

This is an unbelievable hot sauce. With most things that come down to personal preference, such as chocolate, wine, hot sauce, beer, cheese, whatever, there is usually something agreed upon that makes something as "good" or not good. When you browse Amazon's very large collection of hot sauces, you'll see some that have 4 stars, or some that have 5 stars, and the only difference, from the outside, seems to be the number of 1 star reviews. On occasion, a hot sauce will really only merit a 4 star response even from its most fevered fans. It's clear that if you purchase 20 hot sauces at random, you will love a few, hate a few, and some will be okay. What I'm telling you here is that this hot sauce will be eaten quickly. You will not dislike this sauce. There's no way. And, you might even fall in love with it, as I did. This hot sauce has a perfect mix of sweetness, bitterness (almost none, but enough to balance the palate), heat, flavor, and consistency. It's very fairly priced as well.The heat is probably not as hot as most sauces. If I had to guess, I'd put it in the 60,000ish range, if that. If you can't stand the idea of chomping down on a fresh jalepeno, this sauce is probably too hot for you. But as long as the heat doesn't overwhelm you, (and it shouldn't; if I have one complaint it's that it's just a little less hot than most hab sauces) you will LOVE this sauce.This is a 0 risk sauce. You will love it, like it, or somewhere in between. You will finish this sauce quickly. There's not a single sauce except for maybe heartbreaking dawns 1498 that has had the universal acclaim this sauce has when I bring it out among guests and friends. At first I was curious why they offered it in 6 packs. But now I know.

This was part of a Christmas gift to my husband, as he's recently gotten into hot sauces. I picked a few of the top rated sauces that were also considered fairly spicy (Yellowbird Habanero, Secret aardvark, and Dirty Dick's Tropical) for us to try and this one came out on top as a "goes on anything" sauce! Two days in and we're already most of the way through the 9.8oz- I'd buy it by the gallon if I could. It's citrusy, garlicky, a teeny bit sweet, and with a decent kick that builds as you eat more of it.Comparatively, it was a little weaker than the other two in heat, and we concluded that the Aardvark would go better on red meat/things that call for a tomato sauce + Dirty Dick's pairs better with chicken/fish/anything that would work with a mango salsa, but Yellowbird just goes well on anything.

I am a true "Chile Head". A hot sauce fanatic for many decades. I grow Habanero's, Jalapeno's, Serano's and more in my garden and am always asking for hot sauce at a restaurant. I have tried sauces from Trinidad to India. From Korea to Louisiana. And what did I just put on my pizza? YELLOWBIRD! I am in love with this sauce. If they sold it by the gallon, I would buy it today. I also like the other Yellowbird sauces, but THIS one is the bomb!If you love hot sauce with both incredible flavor AND heat, this is the one you want. Just get it!

Alright first thing is first, how hot is it? This sauce has a decent heat while having a touch of sweetness to compliment it. It's not ever going to be that sauce that chileheads brag about, but the flavor is better than most of the "dare sauces" And at 10 oz and a thick consistency, this sauce goes a long way. I just ate too many wings with it and another sauce and the other one I used a good amount and this one barely shows anything gone. I'm not one to slather with a quality sauce, just a generous strip across the top, and I was very impressed. Definitely recommended for someone looking to add a sauce with more than just heat.

Sauce is not like anything I have tried before. It has a little bit of a sweet taste to it with some carrot undertone. The habanero isn't overpowering, but it sneaks up on you. It's a perfect kick and flavor to add to certain foods. This stuff is phenomenal, heart is perfect, great taste, nice bottle that is super functional - allows you to get the precise serving/amount and placed accurately. Can't wait to try more YellowBird sauces.

I bought it to use specifically on roasted almonds. I now use it to roast everything. Try it on cauliflower, butternut squash, turnips, etc...it is amazing!

Popping habanero taste that nicely complements all our burgers and hot-dogs :) Be aware that this is one of the hottest sauces you'll have, use it carefully.

This is an extremely tasty sauce with quite a bit of fire. It's definitely one of the most interesting sauces I've bought.
