great shovel; heavy duty and a nice size for stowing in the truck.

This is a very sturdy tool. It is perfect for when you are driving on the beach. It is a requirement on some beaches to have a shovel. I would highly recommend this tool.

Extremely robust, quality shovel. It digs and it smashes into the ground with aplomb.

I use this shovel for camping and around the backyard. It's great for light to medium duty digging and campfire fire management, but it's got a couple things that bug me. First is the hole near the tip of the shovel. I've had the blade crack a couple different times which I've repaired with my welder; I have now completely filled in the hole and haven't had any issues since. They should really remove this hole as there are holes for the handle rivet and those could be used to hang from for paint. The second is the amount of what I'm assuming is weld debris inside the shaft and I hear it every time I turn the shovel over like it's some kind over overlanding rain stick. The handle, although plastic is very sturdy. I would buy again but I would like to see the design improved.

Durly little shovel. It is small. But that's why you're buying a dedicated off-road shovel, right. Lighter than I thought it would be.

I bought this for overlanding and wanted a nice, sturdy, compact shovel. It's even better than I expected! The steel on the blade and shaft are very heavy duty and are welded together on both sides. It has a decent plastic handle. I can already tell this is going to hold up to all of the abuse it is about to receive!!!

* I have to admit, I benefitted greatly from the other reviews. I WANTED a smaller headed shovel/spade. Mainly I was after a metal handled shovel that wouldn't break. I have five shovel heads out in my yard that one by one busted the handles off. I wanted one that was welded together and that being a bit smaller could be driven into hard packed soil. This one has the added advantage that for transplanting shrubs it's just about the perfect size, I use it constantly to transplant things from place to place. I can get in close to my plants and take up just the root balls, not a cubic foot of extra dirt and rocks that has to be scraped off once the plants are dug up. Of course, the grip on the top IS plastic, but that much can be replaced or modified. In fact I think I saw handles for them on sale somewhere. This shovel might just be the longest lasting one I will have ever paid for...

strong looking shovel, good weight and all one piece (welded together) only thing that I would change and I'm not sure why a company would make such a great product and then rivet a cheap plastic handle on the end? Maybe there is a reason for this, but I don't know what it would be.

Les dimensions de la pelle dans la description sont erronées. Cette pelle est très petite, et comparable à une pelle pour enfant. Elle fait plutôt approximativement 7" X 8,5" et environ 30" de long maximum. Pour quelqu'un qui veut une pelle à gâteau ça peut faire l'affaire...! À ce format, elle ne peut m'être d'aucune utilité: je vais donc la retourner.
