Musiclily Pro-SE ST-HSS-60SE Pre-wired Pickguard with Alnico 5 Pickups 5-Way Switch for Strat Style Electric Guitar, 4Ply Aged White Pearl

I bought this pre-wired pickguard for a little project of bringing an old Starcaster, by Fender, to life. I reworked the fretboard (aligned, re-crowned, and polished frets, treated wood etc), and lined up the front cavities with copper tape, changed bridge and tunners then threw this on, and got to playing... and then the 1st and 2nd position didnt work. The reason the 1st and 2nd positions didn't work, however, was because the copper lining i installed was touching the selector switch. Threw some electrical tape, re-assembled amd EVERYTHING worked perfectly. My cheap old guitar now feels, sounds and looks great! 1st-5th positions work loud and clear!

Aunque yo tuve que hacer más cosas porque tengo un Squier Bullet de hace muchos años, entonces tuve que aislar la cavidad para mejorar el ruido de interferencia y añadir otra masa al aislante de la cavidad. El sonido es evidentemente muy superior a lo que tenía en mi guitarra y se ve muy bien también. Definitivamente lo recomiendo.

I love the tones at all positions, I was interested in having the HSS config. The Humbucker sounds great and when split the single sounds pretty good, not quite a chimy as I like but very acceptable. The only issue I have with the unit is that the “super” switch does not positively stop in positions 2 & 3 causing you to have to set off position to get any sound. This is not really important to me as with the HSS I mostly use positions 5, 4 and 1.

I worked for Leo Fender in the mid 80's and have been building guitars for many years. I had some extra parts and decided to put together a thrasher/ relic for fun. Not being real picky, I got one of these to throw on and try. I was pleasantly supersized how nice it sounds for the money. It has decent pickups and pots. Nice wiring job too.

Absolutely amazing sounds from this pickgard!

This pickguard comes with a decent set of pickups and full-sized pots. I was worried at first because there was a mechanical 5-way pickup selector and historically those didn't fit into the imported S-style guitar that I was modifying due to the shallower depth, but this one is actually flat enough to fit due to a more elliptical shape. The fit and finish on everything is very nice. I had to transfer the components to another pickguard because the neck pocket didn't line up with the new pickguard, but otherwise the electronics worked fine. This fitment shouldn't be an issue if you are working with a body with normal strat measurements or if you are starting a build from scratch. The pickups sound great and have the signature chimey AlNiCo single coil tone, and the humbucker is nice and fat. I had to solder an extra wire to ground the electronics to the shielding tape in the cavity. They left plenty of wiring to run to the output jack and trem claw, though the humbucker has wire that is trimmed exactly to length so if you want to use it in a different guitar you'll have to splice extra wire on there.

This pre-wired strat pickguard with the pearlescent white tortoise shell looks fabulous. However, the magnet pole pieces in the coils are all different heights. These are not the type that are designed to be adjustable, so there is no way to adjust them. I know that Fender used to do this on purpose back when they used a 7.5 inch fingerboard radius, but it doesn’t make as much sense now for the flatter modern fingerboards. Still, if you want something very true to the original, then this is the product for you. You will need to solder the pickup jack, but everything else is pre-wired and appears to be soldered very well. Once I get this installed I’ll add some pictures, but for now I think this will be great. Presumptive 5 stars for now, but if I have any difficulty installing, I’ll update this review.

This is a great pre-wired pickguard, perfect for a Strat build. All of the wiring is complete, and the knobs & pickups installed. Even comes with the cable jack wired and installed. The white pickguard is great, though I admit the 'aged' knobs dont really suit it in my option. I will probably replace the knobs with white or black eventually. The pickups sound good, and installation was simple. I can easily recommend this. Mine was installed on a new build, so I am not sure how well the screw holes line up with a factory brand name guitar.

This is the best sounding strat pickguard I have and I have five strats... Let that sink in. THIS is the only one that can do the neck throaty howl thing I want from a strat neck and still has a really great, clear but highish output bridge pickup that does riffs with string midrange bc of the staggered poles. I thought I liked basic alnico 5s but this whole package, the wiring, the screws, everything feels premium and sounds incredible. To be clear I'm playing through a fender tube amp, your results will vary but fender amps are the standard for strat sounds outside of Europe...and ...yeah. INCREDIBLE sounds. Most pickguard are a slight clarity upgrade sonically...these are MUCH better than anything up to a USA standard pickup with signatures for whatever artists. They're clear, the pots are quality the switch ISNT a circuit board cheapo switch.....just chefs kiss on. Every detail.

I have been building loaded pickgaurds for awhile now for my strat builds. Can't beat the quality and sound from this loaded pickgaurd. The electronics are of good quality the pickups sound amazing in all positions. This is my second one I bought and would definitely buy again if needed.
