essential reading aid for children!
I purchased a few alphablock books for my son who is four years old as he loved the telly series and expressed an interest in learning to read. These stage 2 books are ideal for first time readers as they concentrate mainly on simple words that can be spelt and read using the phonic sounds of each individual letter eg, Map or Dog. My son has picked it up very easily as the books are well laid out and have a lot of additional info on how to get the best out of the book when reading with your child. i would definately recommend that you watch some of the T.V. series first to let your children become familiar with the alphablock characters but after that these books are essential reading!!!

way too short
I seriously cannot believe how short this book is. 8 pages. and it's not even a proper story, just a random bunch of words. Not happy with this purchase to be honest.

Great for learning letters & phonics
My 2 year old loves this book. He really enjoys Alphablocks on TV but a child wouldn't have to have seen the programme to enjoy the book. The book teaches phonetics in a simple, accessible way, & my son could recognise the word pop in other books before he was 2 - which says a lot for how good this book is. It's not a story as such, so I found myself discussing what was happening with my son to keep it more interesting, but sometimes it's good to have a change from a normal story anyway!

What a disappointment
We bought this book for our 4 year old who is crazy about the Alphablocks. It arrived today and it is 4 pages long....yes count them 4 pages! Our little boy was so disappointed with this book we felt so sorry we'd bought it for him. It's a complete let down and considering the price over £3 that's 75p per page! (I could write and print it myself for less!) it's not even worth 50p
