Regardless, I am still very pleased with the final presentation. I made a quick chocolate cake when I received this, and then made dark cocoa buttercream with the same cocoa. The flavor of the cake is somewhat muted, and has similar notes to dark chocolate or even baker's chocolate. Has a distinctly mature or romantic flavor compared to standard cocoa powder. The buttercream turned out a similar shade of black-brown. Delightful flavor together with the cake. Was wonderful chilled. I included photos with and without a flash to give contrast. In some light, specifically fluorescent, it appeared quite dark. A flash, however, literally shone light on the trick and revealed it to be a very dark brown.
