**Q: Is this "Real" Damascus steel or just etched to look like?**
A: Just got mine. It's what we call Damascus. Or welded pattern steel. Very well made.

**Q: Is the blade hardened and tempered?**
A: It appears to have been given some hardening and tempering but what to what extent I can't tell. The dagger I received was very sharp, oiled to protect it against corrosion and is a very good to excellent quality blade and I'm thinking of ordering a 2nd 1.

A: It’s well-balanced well-constructed and very sharp. I would not say it’s “perfectly balanced.”

A: It is designed as a piercing weapon, not a slashing knife. The point is “sharp”. The spiral edges are not. “Poke them with the pointy end.”
