This hose reel exceeds my expectations due to the quality of parts and construction! It’s made of thick gage stainless steel, is attractive, comes fully assembled, and is easy to install.It comes with heavy duty stainless mounting hardware that’s only useful for masonry, so you’ll have to supply your own for other types of mounting substrates. I used the lag bolts from my previous hose reel mount, and they worked perfectly. I’m using it for a 5/8”x75’ hose, and it fit well on the reel with plenty of room to spare, so the item description appears to be accurate on hose capacity. Keep in mind that they strongly warn against using 3/4” hose due to size limitations on the hose threading device.The pros are extensive, with very limited cons. As I read in an earlier review, there is one issue with the hose clamp position being too parallel with the reel axis, leading to a possible hose kink inside the reel. However, after playing around with the hose slack inside the reel, I was able to prevent a kink. The Manufacturer should consider opening up the angle of the clamp a little to relieve stress on the hose. Also, in the future there may be an issue with the exposed grease on the hose threading system catching grit, which could result in wear of the “follower” that drives the side-to-side motion. Although, that follower appears to be made of PTFE, which should extend its life even with some grit.In summary, the pros far outweigh any potential concerns, and while I’ve just started using the hose reel, I wouldn’t hesitate to order another of these. The cost seemed high before purchase, but the overall great quality of this reel definitely makes it well worth the price! If you’re looking for one that looks great and will last, this is the best I’ve ever seen. I’m a lifelong perfectionist and retired industrial Chemist, so I’m very hard to please, and this reel is the best I’ve ever owned!

Install is a two man job. If you are drilling into brick I recommend a bit no larger than half inch and then carefully enlarge as needed. I do not recommend a hammer drill due to internal breakage of the brick. Appears good quality materials in manufacture.

Its expensive and obviously a high end hose reel. Most of the working parts are stainless steel or brass... and thats the gold standard. The attached hose is super quality with stainless fastener. The device that moves the hose when reeling it in is plastic and I dont know how long it will last. It turns nicely and is commercial quality. I am a VERY handy guy. The directions are basically nonexistent... they are a scrawl of unreadable gibberish that gives you NO CLUE how the loose pieces attach. I fiddled with the brass attachment system for hooking up my own hose for a long time. It isnt in any way intuitive and the directions are useless. I have about every wrench imaginable and it was almost impossible to use ANY wrench on the center brass nuts for tightening ...to make the connection not leak.... thats a very poor design feature. If I didnt like the robust quality of the whole unit so much I would have sent it back. After struggling with it for HOURS... I got it installed and no leaks... FINALLY. The highs.... made like a Peterbilt truck and will last a lifetime... and it is an absolute showpiece. The lows... directions and difficulty of attaching your selected hose to the reel. I dont think a novice could successfully attach a high end thick hose to this thing. Its too bad because I love it. Dont expect the directions to help.... I bet MANY get sent back because of the next to impossible setup. Now that its up and working INSIDE my garage.... its decadent.

I have been trying to get this to stop leaking at the house connection since I installed it. I thought I had it fixed, but after a week or so, it started leaking worse than ever. I am VERY disappointed. It leaks terribly. I have even purchase a new hose to try to get it to stop leaking and it still leaks. I have tried different hose gaskets. No improvement. This is a very expensive product and is very well made EXCEPT FOR THE HOSE CONNECTION. I am very disappointed. It stores the hose beautifully. It cleaned up my garage tremendously. But it leaks. I don't just mean a few drops, I mean water pours out of it at the connection. See the video. I would not purchase this product again. The most important thing a hose real needs to do is NOT LEAK!I welcome the company to contact me and discuss options for curing this issue! At this point, I am tremendously disappointed and feel that my money was wasted on a very expensive product that doesn't perform properly.
