Far superior to the original BMW junk.
So far, this replacement part has been great with absolutely no chemical break down problems plaquing BMW lately with their cheaper materials.

No easy install here!
I’m not sure what happened but the item I received looks nothing like the one being so quickly and easily installed. I think you’d have to take the door panel apart (maybe) for this to fit. It’s at least 3/4” to large. See photo.

Great replacement part
Fit perfectly in a 2013 X3. Not an easy part to install. It took about 1.5 hours. Watching the video helped just don’t drill the plastic to much when removing the old part. BMW should have put in a better part to start with as well as using screws and not plastic rivets.

Ease of install depends on how familiar you are with car maintenance, what tools you have and how well you do your research. Got to YouTube and watch a video on BMW X3 driverside door handle replacement. Pay attention to your wires and your door lock. They may move around or dislodge when removing door. You don't have to disconnect any wires and remove the panel completely to replace but it's much easier if you do. There are a few screws you have to remove before pulled the panel off. Take your time and make sure you get all of those or you'll be tugging forever. Watch a YouTube video a few times and you'll have it replaced in about an hourbamd a half..
