Nail biters, this one is for you!
I am a chronic nail biter and this product does the trick! In the past, ive tried different things and nothing worked. I still bit my nails. This product though is amazing and I havn’t bit my nails what so ever in a month! It tastes EXTREMELY horrible and the taste lingers in your mouth forever if you even try. You do have to reapply very frequently (like daily) but to me thats not a big deal at all. Definitely worth it if you’re trying to stop biting your nails!!!

Praise the Mavala!
My baby is 17 months old, and this worked in just one day. She started sucking her thumb around 3 months old and never took a pacifier. Since then, she always sucked her thumb in the car seat and while sleeping. I honestly found it hard to look at, but I planned to address it closer to age two, when she might better understand.Recently, she started sucking much more aggressively. The skin on her thumb became raw, cracked, and scabbed over, and it clearly looked painful. It also wasn’t healing even after a long time. I knew she was still very young, but at that point I decided to try this product.I do want to mention that the taste is extremely bitter. The first time she put her thumb in her mouth, she immediately stuck her tongue out, smacked her lips, and clearly hated the taste. She kept making faces and licking her lips in confusion — but that bitterness is exactly what made this work. The result was a complete success. She stopped sucking her thumb after just one day. The first night, she tossed a little in her sleep but didn’t cry and slept through the night.I plan to continue applying it for another 1–2 weeks just to be safe. I’m incredibly grateful for this product — the bitterness may be unpleasant, but it is truly effective.

Worked on my 2 year old toddler
So i was reccomended this by my dentist and i didnt think this would work. My 2 and a half year old toddler sucks her thumb and i have tried many things to stop her. I was told that she needed to stop and it worked!! At first she was freakung out it tasted bad and drank water but eventually that same day she got the hang of it and by day 2 and 3 she was done with her thumb!!! I only reapplied once. Its been about 6 days and she doesn’t suck her thumb anymore!! My husband tried it out of curiosity and said it tasted super bitter that the flavor stayed in your mouth in once spot where you licked it lol.

More for thumb suckers
Even though this polish was effective for me and my grandfather, it did not work for my LO. She sucks her pointer finger and I think because her nail isn't touching her tongue, she couldn't taste the polish. I did have her lick her thumb to see if she could taste it and she didn't like the taste at all, but it still wasn't enough to make her stopI still think it's a great product. When I tried it on myself, I was utterly disgusted by the taste. It tastes as if you licked acetone. And the taste just lingers! It makes you really regret putting your finger in your mouth.Great for nail biters, but might not be enough for determined finger suckers

I honestly can’t believe how well this worked!
My 4.5-year-old daughter has been sucking her fingers for years, especially when she was tired, watching TV, stressed, and while sleeping. We were constantly reminding her, “Fingers out of your mouth,” sometimes what felt like every few minutes. Nothing really worked.I actually bought Mavala Stop about 2–3 years ago and tried it back then, but it didn’t help at all. Recently, I found the bottle again and decided to give it another try. The difference this time has been incredible! As soon as she tasted the bitterness, she stopped putting her fingers in her mouth. We are now almost FOUR WEEKS in, and she does not suck her fingers at all during the day. Even at night, she has almost completely stopped. I think I’ve only noticed her briefly putting them in her mouth two or three times during this entire period. Her nails on those fingers are finally growing normally, and the irritated, bumpy skin she had from years of sucking is already healing and looking so much better.I’m honestly amazed. After years of constantly reminding her to take her fingers out of her mouth, I never expected something this simple to make such a dramatic difference. If you tried this when your child was younger and it didn’t work, it may be worth trying again when they’re a little older. That was definitely the case for us.I’m one very happy mom. I just wish I had tried it again sooner

Must Reapply Daily
It works well but you have to reapply daily or at least every other day. It washes off daily with baths and hand washing. It is a good product but I wish it lasted longer.

potent or not?
Does anybody ever read a 5-start review of a product that rates so highly? Yes, this product worked for me. And when I say me, I mean a 50 plus year-old who still bites finger nails. Over the years, my nail biting has gotten so bad that nails ripping into the flesh, dripping blood. And when I finally resolved myself, that I will always have to wear acrylics, I learned that my biting habit will eventually find a way to naw off the acrylics too. That's when decided for this: the most bitter substance known to humanity. This product delivered. After a week, I no longer want to put those fingers in my mouth. No surprize there, seeing that this is already a highly rated product. Why I'm writing this note anyways? Well, I did want to warn those sensitive souls out there. If you get your hands on a good batch, the bitterness is extreme. And yes, it goes on food even hours later. And yes, I can still detect it on my fingers, even 24 hours and a shower later. If your problem is not so serious, perhaps go for for something more herbal instead of this.

Bought for my kid, also used myself
I originally purchased this product for my 4-year-old who can’t keep her fingers out of her mouth. I don’t blame her as I am a chronic nail biter myself. However, less illness for all of us sounded like a sweet deal and this product seemed like it could help. So we both put it on and it’s been a few days. While I don’t think it’s as nauseatingly awful as others have mentioned, it lets you know it’s there and nips the automaticity of the habit. I’m happy to report that it’s kept us both accountable, for the most part, and our nails are already in better shape. I’d highly recommend this for both a 4 and a 40-year-old.

Does exactly what it says it would
Been a lifelong nail biter.I'm worst in the car where I do it absentmindedly. Was a bit sceptical about how good this stuff would be, or how long lasting it would last, but my fears turned out to be unfounded. It is awesome, tastes disgusting, and it very hard wearing. It's almost invisible unless you're really looking close, and the few times I've forgotten about it, and started to bite a nail, I'm given a very swift reminder not to do it again. The taste is bitter, and stays in the mouth long enough for you to not want to do it again.I sit here about two weeks into using it - nails are growing back nicely, no more sore fingers - nails are actually starting to catch on surfaces if I rub my fingertips over things. Amazing.I imagine I'll keep up the treatment for another couple of weeks, then stash the little bottle somewhere, and if I start to slip back into old habits, just do some shorter treatments as necessary, but I'm hoping this will help me break the association completely. If you want to stop - couldn't recommend this stuff highly enough.

She's now 4 and doesn't really suck her thumb anymore
Worked for my daughter. She had been sucking on her thumb since she was a baby. At around 3 and a half, I started using this. She's now 4 and doesn't really suck her thumb anymore. It's important to note that I never forced it on her. We had a discussion (not sure how much she understood) and she agreed to wear the liquid. One thing is for sure, the taste is horrible.

Incredible results!!
I have been biting my nails for so many years now. Back in 2014, I made the effort to stop biting by going to the nail salon and getting acrylic/shellac nails, that worked for about 1 year but it wasn’t cost effective and I still had the hand-to-mouth habit, so any time I would get bored, anxious, nervous, I’d still be biting my nails.Fast forward 7 years and I decided I really wanted to kick the habit, so I found this product, gave it a try and I honestly think it has changed my life for the better. The taste is horrible and lasts about 3-4 days (so beware of foods that you eat with your hands), As a result of the terrible taste, psychologically you associate nail-biting with the horrific taste (which is the point of the product). After using the product for 2 weeks, I definitely saw a huge improvement in me not biting my nails and decided to stick with it. After 6 weeks, I felt I had stopped my nail-biting habit, and I really wanted to test myself and the product too, so I stopped using Mavala and I was correct! I really did kick the habit. Now, I grow my nails for 6 weeks and then cut them really short to keep testing myself - I had also felt that because they were growing long, it felt weird to bite long nails, so I wouldn’t. Therefore if I could have them short and not bite my nails, that would demonstrate that the habit really has gone.It has now been 6 months since I embarked on this journey and I couldn’t be happier. My friends and family are always pointing out how lovely my nails are and how far I’ve come (as I was literally that person with terrible nails).I really hope that this is a life-long change that has happened for me. I highly recommend to those who have had problems biting their nails.
