This is a known problem with this model. The company was good about providing a replacement even though the warranty had expired. Unplug the unit for 72 hours allowing the tank to thaw out then plug the unit back in and give it a try. If it's a freezing problem it may return in a few days. It cannot be repaired by the consumer. **Q: Does the pump cone with product? Can you use any 5 gallon water bottle or do you neef special bottle and where do you order** A: The pump is part of the unit. You can use almost any 3 or 5 gal bottle, The sleeve that fits over the bottle is tapered to accept most bottles in the 53 mm to 60 mm caps. Wallmart, amazon and others sell the bottles. **Q: Does the hot water come in contact with any plastic parts, such as the heating elements, the reservoir and the spout?** A: It doesn't really have contact with any plastic...It comes out straight and hot...But it will not heat up or Melt any other plastic around it. Not terribly hard to set up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2 years and dead in the “water” *by on Reviewed in the United States 10 July 2025* Edit: Avalon reached out and sent me a new unit. Much happier with them now!2 years. That’s how long this water cooler lasted, and even in that time it had issues. Last night it started making weird noises and now it doesn’t dispense hot water. 2 days ago it wouldn’t dispense cold water. If you’re looking for something to last a short time, go for it. If you want something that lasts, avoid this product. Also, I got the one with the filters. ### ⭐ Lifecycle - 2 Years or Less - Buyer beware *by on Reviewed in the United States 15 April 2026* This units are not held to any guarantee of quality or longevity. I've had this unit for two years and have changed the filters and cleaned it with the manufacturers products as indicated. Two years in and the pump has failed. They tell me I have to pay them $40 directly to get a new pump, plus shipping.So buyer beware, these units have no guarantee of life and Avalon does not have the integrity to support and back their products. They will just try to sell you more stuff rather than assist you.A pump should last longer than two years for a $200+ unit. And we shouldn't have to continuously buy more and more stuff from Avalon.I contacted customer service via the little magnet they included with the unit and when calling, i was told to Email them. When I emailed them, I was sent back a single message to send them $40 and they then proceeded to ghost me and are not replying.It's a "good" dispenser, but apparently Avalon practiced planned obsolescence --- they know their units will fail within a year or two and then they will be able to continue nickle-and-diming you.
