Fits quite well
This is a very comfortable (and reasonably priced) helmet. I have an unusually long head (or for you geometry fans, my head has high eccentricity). So, if you have a long, narrow head, this will probably fit you well. If your head is more circular, it might not work, though they do enclose some pads that will supposedly help you adjust the fit. I don't know how well those pads work, as I don't need them.I am new to equestrian sports. The packaging for this helmet mentions the importance of replacing your helmet every few years and of not wearing the helmet if the plastic shell has been discolored, cracked, or warped. Such things can indicate heat/sun damage which may affect the structural integrity of your helmet. Such damage could mean your helmet won't protect you properly in a fall.I realize now that many of my school's rental helmets looked old and had warped plastic outer shells. I'm really glad I bought my own helmet. It's cleaner, more comfortable, and above all, safer.I haven't suffered a fall while riding. I hope I never do, but if it happens, I'll try and update my review.

Perfect for horseback riding.
I purchased this for my daughter for horseback riding. It is lightweight, certified and came packaged well. My daughter is 12 and 5'4" ,We initially purchased an adult medium but it was way too tight and small for her head so we had to return it and we went up to an adult large and it fits her perfectly! We highly recommend it! The return process was very easy and smooth too. Great quality for a great price!

Perfect Helmet
My daughter loves this helmet! She’s 3 and pretty petite, so it’s a tad bit big yet, but still works great! We were able to tighten it up and she’ll be able to wear it for a long time.

Fits great, not to hot
I bought this for my daughter. It fits her very well and she has used it the whole season without any issue. Even in the heat she never complained about it being hot. (And shes 8 so that's really saying something) she put rhinestones on it and all the other kids were pretty impressed by it. Just remember, if this is your first helmet purchase, do some research about how it should fit. You dont want it to be lose!

Good for the price
For less than $30 it is what you'd expect.A low quality item that i'm not entirely sure is the best safety item for my child's head.Im not an equestrian rider at all, but been riding motorcycles for years.that's what I have to compare to and also my common sense.I bought for my 2 year old that rides at minimum speed, walking next to me and only twice a month for 40min each time.Helmet finish: I think this is where the most savings are made. It is literally a thin layer of loose plastic that covers the protective foam. .032 or maybe thinner.Straps: Not easy to adjust at all... you can spend 5 minutes trying to set them to the right fit. Well made though. Seem secure enough.Padding: Sub par, thin. Although i like the fact that is one piece and it is removable so you can wash it.Overall: Seems like the best you can get for around $30. Troxel charges on their website $35 for this, I paid about $25 on Amazon. Can't get a better deal than this.Would I buy the same helmet again?... NO. I'm not confident on the level of safety it provides. One my kid grows out of it (very soon), would be buying something more substantial and "safe".

Sturdy helmet great for horse lessons
This helmet is very good and I love the white color! It has a good padding protection by the brain stem and my daughter loved it! Very sturdy helmet our trainer loves it and they actually use it a lot on the lessons. Great customer service too! I recommend this small shop!

Extra Small Fits Our Toddler Perfectly
We were looking for a helmet that would fit our 2-year-old daughter while riding her pony. We asked around, and eventually were given the recommendation for this helmet, size extra small. It was within our budget so we went for it, and I'm glad we did! It fits her head well with some wiggle room that is adjusted with the provided padding, and after she outgrows it we can size up to the small and pass this one on to her little brother. Plus, it's always nice to have reliable riding helmets of all sizes on hand. I grew up riding in Troxel helmets, so I feel safe with my daughter wearing one.

Nice helmet, fits well, looks appropriate
I probably could have bought an X-Sm, but was able to insert the included padding strips to make it fit properly; my head is more round than oblong and sometimes hard to fit. The helmet feels very secure and comfortable, but I haven't worn it in really hot weather to see how well the ventilation works - a major consideration here in TN. We'll see next summer.09/25/2014 - OK, it's three years later and that means three summers gone by. At least one of those summers was a bear and the helmet couldn't make me cooler but it didn't make me warmer either (and I've had helmets that did). I'm still glad I got it.
